It's hard for Nora Tragianese to describe the music she and her husband Mark's band TRAG make.

The Danbury music scene, as with a lot of clubs in Connecticut, tends to favor cover bands over originals, like TRAG.

apparently she has never either been to danbury or only goes to crappy places like tuxedo's or molly darcy's that do not support local music, only cover bands. we don't tend to favor cover bands, what planet are you on?

for the last 40 years, there's a rich history of our staunchly independent music scene.

Well, I've been in and around the Danbury area since 1985...sorry; haven't seen what you're talking about.

What clubs are you talking about?

Well, cover bands, if they're good, serve a purpose:
They get performers out in front of people, playing music that is recognized, and it also builds the performer's confidence. I've been in a few over the last 20 years, but I always knew that I wanted to do something Original.
Where did you see these Original bands?

tuxedo (when they still booked national/international acts)

heirloom arts
Larry's
Danbury Green

and over the past decade and change...

Flying Squire (Classic Rock Brew Pub)
hat city alehouse
WestConn
Empress Theater
TK's

been a musician for over two decades, nora...I NEVER could have toured the US and played with my favorite bands if I was playing covers...I would have already bailed on it years ago.

playing live is fun, but it has a short shelf life as a motivation.

fire up them Pro Tools and you'll be doing it when you're retired!

Thanks very much! Appreciate it!

Here's a link to our Music Video for "On The Way Down" - people say it reminds them of early "Blondie":
