Quite the show it was! I teach music at the collegiate level...and have always admired YES and the level of musicianship needed to perform artrock of this order.

JERKBOY above...yeah, they may be getting old, but you're an IDIOT.

These 2 bands are AMAZING and YES, in particular, helped to shape the music landscape as we know it. Why is YES not yet in the R&R hall of fame?????

By the way, yes, K1ll 3 birds, you are obviously an age discriminatory idiot. Grow up, man.

Wonderful show all round - quite a career capsule for both bands. To be performing compositions of this complexity at any age is nothing short of amazing. And by the response of the vast audience, I was not the only person with a love of their music! Thanks to Musikfest for having two great bands - Al Stewart/Dave Nachmanoff were equally incredible at their sold-out show at Foy Hall on the previous night!

Sssshhhhhhh!
Please do not let the secret of CAN out of the can...or...well I suppose it doesn't matter since if a band never got played on "ZZO" 90% of valley rock fans wouldn't listen to them anyway.
There is no "Dead" without Garcia, there are no "Stones" without Jagger, there is no YES without Anderson. If YES still had Anderson in the lineup do you think MusicFarce would have got them????? of course not.

Can still rules. Only the early 70's stuff though, with the Japanese guy. ZZO sucks. LV has the worse radio stations in america. 99 the hawk is a looser aerosmith (sucky era early90s) and meatloaf (barfff) station. it just plain sucks. Lehigh fritz rock, is pretentious 70's blue rock wank fest.

I have seen Asia a number of times. We did not go to see this show, but heard it from the sidewalk on Lehigh Street for a little bit. With all of John's health problems, I am continually amazed with his vocal skills. Having Geoff, Steve, and Carl in the mix brings an amazing band together. I hope they come back soon!

seriously...i hope that they are never inducted into that place where money and pop culture are placed above obvious talent. yes music is so much better than any of that from the already inducted artists. it's like comparing bach or mozart to the same grade school flutiphone recital that kill 3 birds played in this past spring

Really all CAN is great. Only there very last one or two albums did they let it get away from them. The early stuff was most experimental. it only got prog oriented after both Damo Suzuki and Malcolm Mooney had left and the band was reduced to Scmidt, leibezit, Karoli and Czukay. They still managed to stay true to experimental form( see flow motion) but with more and more prog taking over up through Saw Delight.
Yes, in case you can't tell...I own all their releases even the shite ones.

Obviously, the juvenile fools on this board haven't a clue as to what constitutes great music or great musicians.

The schlock that so-called musicians/artists produce today is enough to make me want to projectile vomit.

Hip-hop? Yeah, real talented people that can "rhyme." Modern pop? The dregs of a society that has overdosed on the sham that is American Idol...as if any of these alleged "singers" has any discernible talent whatsoever. Alt/Metal Rock? All bands sound the same with dark, gloomy and repetitive chords and vocals or obnoxious, profane, blasphemous, violent and misogynistic lyrics.

Proof enough for me that the juvenile musical experts who feel qualified to weigh in as bonafide music critics of a classic rock show at Musikfest have absolutely no clue at all for they are the product of a society that glorifies degenerate violence, degradation and debauchery. This country and culture of ours is in rapid deterioration.

Thank God for bands like Asia and Yes who can make us feel good with excellent musicianship and uplifting, spiritual music and lyrics with real meaning and emotion that truly adds value to our life experiences.

I feel so sorry for these young misfit, misguided souls with no future, no hope and no prospects for happiness. They have no respect or appreciation for the truly good and beautiful things in life. What a pathetic and lonely existence.

Where I can appreciate your hatred for the wanna be music crap of today, I think calling Asia and Yes a blessing and thanking God is a bit much. If you want to thank anyone for awesome music, how about you start with the Allmans, Vaughn, and ZZ Top....

When Nicky Marion or Adrian Burley play drums for a band at Musikfest, I will come and pay big money to see either of them. Until then, I'm not interested unless Ray Charles comes back from the grave.

The best days of Musikfest are behind it.
