Is Mitt Romney's Mormonism a Cult?

Oct 17, 2011 Full story: Examiner.com 9

When Christian evangelical leader Robert Jeffress told the crowd at the Christian right Values Voter Summit that presidential hopeful Rick Perry is "a genuine follower of Jesus Christ" and later said Mitt Romney is not a Christian and that Mormonism is a cult, he opened a can of worms that should cause "revealed" religious people to reflect.

how could mormons not be christians when they pray to jesus christ? theyre just erroneous christians with misled superfluous gnostic beliefs. yet as long as they believe He is savior, theyre christians. they just have th ewrong idea about God's origins. we know he is Spirit and only jesus is been in the form of a Man,yet not jesus's Father was ever a man on some planet. Father has always been spirit.

Mitt romney wants to fulfill a mormon prophecy of getting the mormons into power in washington d.c.,because joe smith said the constitution would be on a string, and had this delusion mormons would save it from decay.

"Mormons teach that man can become God, and that God was once a man:

"God himself, the Father of us all, is a glorified, exalted immortal resurrected man!" (Bruce McConkie, Mormon Doctrine, pp. 322-23, 517, 643)
"...God himself was once as we are now and is an exalted man and sits enthroned in yonder heavens..." (Journal of Discourses, V6, P3, 1844)
"As man is, God once was: as God is, man may become." (Lorenzo Snow, quoted in Milton R. Hunter, the Gospel Through the Ages, pp. 105-106)

This is plain and simple heresy. Nowhere does the Bible say or imply that God was ever a man, or that man can become God! Malachi 3:6 says, "For I am the LORD, I change not..." How could this be true if God was once a man? Genesis 1:1 states that God existed "in the beginning" before man was ever created. John 4:24 states that God is a "spirit," and Jesus tells us in John 1:18 that no man has seen God at any time. Numbers 23:19 says that "God is not a man that he should lie; neither the son of man that he should repent." God has always been God, and no one has ever "become" God. "

thats right. i suspect Joseph smith was probably sometimes sincere in thinking he was right, but he was being misled by a deceiving spirit because he used the crystal balls (peep stones )too much to get revelations, thinking they were from God. His religion was done as penance from a spirit named Moroni to try to get a lighter sentence for joining Lucifer, knowing Mormonism would lead many to Christ, although a flawed concept of God and Christ's origins, albeit the demon could not help but add lies into the revelations to joseph smith.

The republicans will easily win the election with a real Christian but not a Mormon running this country.

Yes a real Christian

Not Perry
Not Bachmann
Not Paul
Not Huntsman (sorry he's mormon too)
Not Gingrich
Not Cain (unless he's truly innocent)
Not Santorum
And definitely definitely not Romney
