Wonderful article!
Kim Carnes' image is so tightly linked with her 1981 hit 'Bette Davis Eyes' that it's surprising to discover how much else she's done in the arts as an actress, singer, pianist, producer and writer.
The article is great, but I would like to add some information.
In 1980 Kim Carnes was Grammy nominated for the first time as "Best Vocal Group" (with Kenny Rogers) for "Don't Fall In Love With A Dreamer."
In 1982 Kim Carnes was nominated for a Best Pop Vocal Performance (female) Grammy Awards , for "Voyeur."
In 1983 Kim Carnes was nominated for a Best Rock Vocal Performance (female) Grammy Awards , for "Invisible Hands."
In 1987 Kenny Rogers & Ronnie Milsap peaked #1 Country charts with "Make No Mistake, She's Mine" written by Kim Carnes. They also won the Grammy for
Best Country Vocal Performance, Duet.
In 1992 she co-wrote "The Heart Won't Lie" with Donna Weiss, and Reba McEntire & Vince Gill were nominated for "Best Country Vocal Collaboration". This song peaked #1 at Country charts.
