Will he ever adopt?

**If** Keanu Reeves were to adopt, depending on where he adopted from may have an impact on what "he got". i.e., China, he'd most likely end up with a daughter. Romania, it could go either way, but if his "luck" was anything like an old friend of mine, your "toddler" has been starved to stunt their growth so they are years beyond what you thought and they know way too much about "relations". Though you wouldn't know this until they learn your mother tongue.

International adoption isn't always what it is cracked up to be.

But I have to say that I stand by my previous post that he wouldn't adopt. IMO, I think there are enough children around him to satisfy his nurturing side. IMO, I think he would be Godfather "supreme". He would take his "title" seriously and would have presence in his godchildren's lives.

I'm reminded of a picture I saw on an old board years ago of him and his goddaughter at an opening of a certain Disney movie (maybe?) She was in a cute dress and he was hunched over talking excitedly with her on the way into to the show. That's what I'm talking about.

IMO family and tradition is important to KR (because he keeps his family so close to him). But having a family not so much. Not this late in the game. I think he reconciled the fact that it probably wouldn't happen at age 45. That's not to say that it couldn't or it wouldn't. Just that he's not "on the market" so that he can check it off of the bucket list.

Andromeda,what you say probably describes K-man's situation best,yes he kind of satisfies his nurturing side with his friend's kids and as Sandy said, it is obvious he takes his role pretty seriously as the godfather and will always be involved in the lives of those children but still a teeny-tiny part of me would like to believe one day he would be up for the *real thing*...

So yes despite all odds, I still wanna believe that it would happen one day,why not? Yes, the ideal is having a child with both parents but if he couldn't find the one or even worse if he finds the *wrong one* like his pal Sandy B, I'd like to think that he might still consider adoption. Maybe after the excitement of becoming a producer and a first time director goes away and it all becomes business again, who knows?

Sometimes I do think Isabelle is his biological daughter but not an actual daughter.

When you see the film Somewhere and you realize that Sophia did at least partially base her main character on Keanu...it made me wonder about his relationship with Isabelle.

Well, as I said earlier, I cannot see Keanu with a baby in his 50s, but maybe he would go for a toddler or even an older child if he ever feels the need to raise a child, yet again it is too much work without any female support. But let's say he applies for adoption and has to pick a gender, I guess I'm also thinking he might prefer a little boy as an adopted child, not that he is sexist or anything but imo he has already some the 'baby girl' experience with his goddaughters and also he was raised with two sisters, plus as you said there are some sad memories of expecting a baby girl,so if he has a choice, he might very well go for a boy, besides doesn't all men always want a boy a little bit more than a girl?

Btw has anyone noticed that Keanu talks with the imaginary baby as if it is a boy and I remember him joking in a Constantine promo about the possibility of sequels, he said smt like this ''And in episode xxxx, they will introduce the son of Constantine' in his booming special effects voice,lol maybe he really wants to father a little boy in his sub-conscious ;))

Would Keanu adopt a baby..hmmm, naw..don't think so. I think he has come to the realization that that isn't is the cards for him. So, I reckon..if he wants to be a dad..he'll get a role.

Kids, if done properly..take alot of time, energy and commitment. IF he finds The One for him..then maybe. To go it alone..once again..naw. He is much smarter than that. Also, he is A Man..so the need isn't as great as a woman..imho.

Would he be a good father? I believe he would have alot to offer a child. I just think, if he wanted that..he would have gone for that. And maybe he already has.
