Ahh that is sweet of you..I really can't handle cherry much anymore..fresh yes. Back in high school I did a diet where I had to add a packet of this amino something or other..cherry flavored. It was nasty..so how bout a Corona..love me some with lime. My sweet friend made it special for moi :D. It is really good..I love watermelon flavored gum, candy, watermelon juice. If you have no beer, it's all good, I learned to share a looonnnngggg time ago.:D

TY my queen for the start! ok, here goes.

How about we pick the directors which we think Keanu should work with at least once in his career? This idea came to me after the release of Side by Side and seeing all the directors he interviewed. It's been speculated that his Side by Side project was done not only out of personal interest but also as sort of a 'backdoor' to the directors he interviewed. How true this is, I dont know. A few of them he has already worked with, but a huge number of them seem to be a wish list of directors any actor would love to work with.

Why he hasnt worked with the huge directors? Like Scorsese, Soderberg, The Coen brothers, Allen, Speilberg, Lucas, Burton, Craven, Cameron, Eastwood, Michael Mann, Bay, Jackson, Verbenski, Lee, Scott, Tarantino, just to name a few. The list is unfortunately long.

For me, Scorsese directing anyone is always a safe bet. But, nowadays you'd have to pry him away from DiCaprio to do it lol Leo is his muse at the moment it would seem.

So, hands down for me it would be Scorsese. The man is a visonary and a genius and he is golden. A living legend.

I heard that Keanu really really really wanted Mark Walhberg's part in The Departed. Can you blame him? Walhberg's role, if Keanu could have landed it, would have possibly garnered him an Oscar nod.

Maybe Keanu wasnt "Boston" enough for the role. Or maybe Marty didnt think he would fit into the cast. I know Keanu has worked in ensemble casts with major stars before but maybe Marty didnt think he would fit into this particular cast.

I know Marty tends to do gritty crime dramas but Keanu did SK and he was pretty good in it even though I didnt think the movie itself was that great. It was an edgey gritty cop/crime thriller the kind that Marty likes to do. Forrest Whitaker was a little over the top for my taste. But, in the last few years Marty has been doing other things as well with The Aviator, Hugo and Shutter Island.

I know Keanu marches to the beat of a different drummer, but he seems to be getting very serious about his career now with the documentary and the directorial debut. He sorely needs a huge hit movie and a decent dramatic role.

And that's why I would love to see him kick some serious dramatic butt in a Scorsese directed production.
Marty always seems to have a way to bring out the best performances from his actors. His body of work attests to this starting with Mean Streets all the way to Hugo.
I havent seen Side by Side yet. Is Marty too high strung for Keanu to work with? Marty can get kinda spazzy when he starts talking fast lol

Well, that was my pick. It may be only a foolish pipedream but maybe one day.......

Looking forward to hearing what all you guys think :)and what directors you have in mind.

cheers :)

Awesome Sadie !!

My pick would be David Cronenberg - "In his films the psychological is typically intertwined with the physical"

Alot of actors who have worked with him have said that he is very patient, highly intellegent detail orientated and has an incredible quick wit

He is also Canadian and has worked alot with another famous Virgo man - Viggo Mortensen hehehe

Of course, Scorsese's next movie stars Leonardo DiCaprio and is called The Wolf of Wall Street. Not that it surprises anyone right?:D

And from the net...I found this interesting...

"Scorsese announced that he is to abandon shooting movies on film and turn to digital, after editor Thelma Schoonmaker conceded the collapse of the format was “impossible to fight” and has “lost the battle” and is to shoot his next project, The Wolf of Wall Street with Leonardo DiCaprio, digitally. Schoonmaker, who worked as Scorsese's editor for 40 years, said:“It’s just impossible to fight it anymore, the collapse of film,” before adding:“Marty and I are very depressed about it. It would appear that we have lost the battle.”

Now I can fully understand why Marty wanted to do the interview with Keanu in Side by Side. It was a subject very close to his heart.

It seems that alot of Directors are now doing Digital sadie. I just found this on David Cronenberg.

A film programme of Cronenberg’s works using newly struck 35mm prints and new digital versions of select films will accompany the exhibition.

Very Cool that Keanu was the first one to bring this subject to light
