I admit, I never really thought he was seious about this...maybe he liked the script? The way things are going, it will probably be 20 years before it would be released.

I see it differently. I think he does like the idea but it all depends on whether Ronin does well. If Ronin does badly: not good for career. Bankability kind of shot.

I have never seen Bill and Ted, but from the clips I have seen I would think it's not what I would like to see nowadays. But I can imagine that long Keanufans would love to see a sequel. They grew up with Bill and Ted and I'm sure they would love it.
And maybe a new generation (thinking of my son) will get hooked on the "dudes" and their expressions.

Son: "Hey, mom dude, what about an excellent Schnitzel for lunch!"
Me: "Yeah, son dude." (*roll eyes*)
Son: "Whoah!"

LOL. Kidding.

I have to admit I didn't see them in their hay day. I did rent them a few years ago because so many remarked how great they were. My verdict is that I was right to have by-passed the "franchise" the first time. The genre doesn't appeal to me; however, it probably will appeal to the fans who loved the movies and it probably will be a nice generational "bridge" that the parents will enjoying sharing with their kids. Kind of in keeping with the theme of B&T 3 (grown up with wife and kids and dealing with grown-up issues and kids, etc.)

That summer the summer of B&T I saw it 17 times in the theater --- it was the only place that had air conditioning because it was over 100 degrees outside. Didn't have air at work either. Interestingly nobody bugged me when I went to theater and I could nap or read or eat my lunch in privacy during the matinee.

I was going to ask if there were any other movies showing, but it was back in the day of one theatre movie houses, wasn't it? Unless you were at a shopping centre.

Time has changed so much.

Perhaps it is time for Keanu to meet up with his Nemesis Ted and I use the terms nemesis loosely becuase it is my speculation.

It is my understanding that Keanu was plagued by Ted for a number of years, back in the day. Supposedly saying he feared his tombstone would read something like..'Here lies Ted' or something.

Always, will I remember[just not verbatim]the interview I saw of him, done while on the set of 'A Walk in the Clouds'. The gal asked him a question about Ted. Keanu messed his hair up, broke Ted out and made some comment. Then Keanu commented on how Ted never does the dishes but he always gets the! At one point, Keanu looked at the camera, holds his arm up as if to tell the time and says something about how that movie came out in 1986 and we're still talking about it some 9 years later? Wish I could find it, it was a totally cool vid! Especially to see HIM and then see Ted emerge and then disappear.

Anywho..I look forward to all of Keanu's new projects and wish him the best, always!

Queen - it was 'He played Ted'
although I guess on the other side of that tombstone should be written 'He played Neo'.

I often think that Ted was Keanu Reeves' curse- or rather blessing in disguise. If it weren't for Ted, his acting career - and especially his relationship with the press- would probably have taken a different course. But that's all water under the proverbial bridge now.

I liked the subversiveness of the 'Bill and Ted' movies. Under the dude humor there were a few undertones...or maybe it was just the eye of the beholder. But I only watched them a few years ago, so there's the post-post modern influence and all that jazz.

Do I want to see a third installment, Bill and Ted in their 50s ? why not? Dunno about others, but i surely could use a good (bitter) laugh...
