How far down the rabit hole have you gone? Are you casually interested in KR or are you obsessed? Is he just fascinating or your soulmate?

Have you -
attended all the premieres?
sent him something?
bought him gifts?
made him videos on youtube?
created a website?
other?
share...

What qualifies as "crossing the line" to you?

Erm..looks like I'm first!

No to all on list.

'Crossing the line?' Hard to say. I am a relative late-comer to fandom, so I'll just have to wait and see how 'deluded' I become!

How about you?

Did you ever manage to 'mystify' his 'quanta'?

;)))

Thanks Dr for putting yourself out there ((hugs))

I wouldn't say that I am obsessed; what began as lust many years ago (Bill & Ted) has changed. Now I am interested in the person, the man behind the mask. I haven't seen all of his movies, or watched certain ones multiple times; but there are certain scenes in certain films where if he were next to me, I would turn to him and say "Yes! You totally nailed that!"

Once, I mailed a fan letter to him. It was a simple letter, no poems about tragic love or sonnets to his beauty, yet I still felt it was intrusive. It is a point of shame for me. I realize that people send fan mail all the time and mine was tossed away unopened. For me, that was crossing the line. Even coming here, to a fan forum, makes me a little uncomfortable.
I try to imagine what it would feel like if there were a website like this about me? My goal is to keep that in mind before I post.

Totally agree!

His biggest effect on me has been bafflement - it's only now that he makes 'sense'. I really didn't realise how much craziness there was in fandom, though the posters in here are mostly blessedly sane.

''Looks?' He's got the actor's mobility. I prefer him in 'hippy mode' because he looks most at ease. Skinny might make him look more cinegenic, but its not 'happy'.

Anyway, for me it's The Look that really affects, not the looks. I've always been that way.

P.s your bio on the other thread sounds just like mine!

As I understand, the motto is : "Don't do to him, what you wouldn't like for yourself"?
I like Belgian chocolate very much.

I would say casual interest for me....he is interesting...and not typical. Thats why I am intrigued. I am more interested in his mindset...philosophy. He is nice on the eyes Though...speaking of eyes you can tell he is a nice person by looking at his.

I was in Belgium not so long ago (Sept); 18hr layover - I made a point to pick up some chocolate while there (Cote D'Or I think?):D Adorable little chocolate safari animals.

Côte D'or are good, but not exclusieve. Try next time Leonidas, it's more special, and I even think, there is a shop in the airoport. There are few really exquise marks, some experimentators; there is Museum of Chocolate ( with the shop, of course) at Grand Place/Grote Markt in Brussels. But actionally, I like fondant of Cote D'or a whole lot - very pure bitter chocolate. MMMmm

So, do you find my sin forgivable?

Don't forget Godiva! Delish.

Yel, no motto. He can go from fab to flub, but he's still got soul.

Chris Cooper also has that quality, though he's never looked like Adonis.

And gimme some of that choc now!

I shall do my best to remember if I make it over that way again.

There is no sin, so there is nothing to forgive. ;)

There are not many other contemporary male actors that have captured my attention. Most have a glossy surface but...

Perhaps another part of it, certain events in my life have run in parallel to certain events in his. Mind you, I fully realize this does not imply any special bond, but maybe a sense of .... kinship, empathy, relatedness?

Alas, I digress - we were talking about chocolate! Or sin?:)

The chocolate WAS my sin - my crossed line.
My possible excuse is - that was my first time, I didn't realize in which constant danger his stomack and lever has to be, if he would eat everything what he gets from his fans. And I didn't throw me through the table, requiring "kisses for chocolates". I fairly treated him as myself (I doubted between chocolate and beer, but he was with a lady, and I treated them equally). Well, I dared to mumble promise of the box of beer , if he ever comes to Belgium.
At that point I have to think about the story of me and the horse ( remember, I told it to Thomas). We both liked even distressed, surprised and brought out of balance by such my cheekiness. However, it's not so obvious at the photo, as at those with the horse ;]

I would think he would have to change his name to Adephagia, should he eat every gift he is given. Still, I think it was quite thoughtful. I would certainly be very pleased with such a present!
Can imagine what his house would look like if he kept all the tokens and trinkets of affection over the years? It would be packed full.:)) I once had a signifiant other (SO) that was forever buying me stuffed animals. Mind you, it was sweet, but what am I to do, an adult, with 50+ stuffed animals? Eventually, for each new stuffed animal arrival at my home, I donated two to a charity. The SO never noticed. Upon the end of our time together I bagged them up and donated them all. I felt like Santa!

NO to every question on the list. But I like KR movies. I also like his acting style: He can act tremendously powerfully without saying a word. I also like his choice of movies. And I deeply appreciate him as an artist. I cannot and don't want to say almost anything about him as a person since I have not met the guy and never talked to him.

I actually joined precisely because I was interested in the concept of fandom per se. And guessing Keanu Reeves fans may have a story or two to tell. I thought every single woman here would be crazy. I was wrong. Only some are. Some are perfectly OK. Found some nice people here. Mostly the 'odd folks' seem to be in the gossipmongers site.

Couple weeks ago, curious about the fandom, went to the Ugossip (yes, been there couple of times !!) and there was a character they called Cloud / Queenie (not sure if there was 1 or 2 persons under that name) but the poor woman had been obsessed with Keanu Reeves over 10 years (seen him once or twice) and convinced they are SOULMATES, and she was dreaming and praying they will have a life together, he just has to FIND HER.... People were sorry for her, they said she was *bleep*. Such is fandom. Sad but true.

Actually I do have a weird story to tell about obsessive & FANatic fandom.

It may or may not be the novelty amongst the "obsessive fans" but the strangest thing happened to me outside my building in New York a couple of months ago. My doorman told me that an unknown woman had been asking for me by name and showing my photo. This woman 'attacked' me when I was going out and told me I must leave Keanu Reeves alone.

I was like WHAT ??? I told her I never met the guy, I never talked with the guy, I have nothing to do with the guy, I told she must be mistaken. But she knew a lot of things about me, my name, my daughter's name, my address, job, email address, horoscope sign, my favorite movies and that I was with the Topix.

And she kept on-and-on that she and Keanu Reeves are a couple, or at least will be soon (I did not ask whether KR knew about that LOL). She said she has known KR for something 15 years and she loves him, they are soul mates... SOUL MATES (for God's sake !!) and that they have an important mission to accomplish together. She will be his wife soon and they will have children together. If I continued to be there "WITH HIM" (???:o) their life purpose is not fulfilled... etc etc. She was a complete nutcase. Completely out of her mind. I thought all she needed was a Padded Cell & tranquilizers.

When I told that she must leave now, she started to be a bit more aggressive, she pushed me physically, told me I was her enemy, demanding me to promise I will never have anything to do with Keanu Reeves or else...

I basically told her to f**k off or else I will call the Police. She grabbed me and yelled something (that cannot be repeated on the public board)... something that "crossed the line" that qualified an illegal threat to the health of myself and my daughter and an illegal act against me so I decided to call the Police. However, unfortunately, she run away and jumped into a taxi and I lost her.

So I kind of freaked out. That was September. I have kept my eyes open but I have not seen her thereafter. Very strange woman. Complete nutcase. Looked like a worn-out-weirdo or some sort of ex-prostitute to me.

I have of course been threatened several times because of my (previous) work, I am used to leave via back doors after certain important events, and I use taxi, I know a lot about those things. But criminals and political cases are predictable, sort of. This woman however was a complete out-of-the-blue nutcase.

So did I learn about fandom? I sure did. LOL :))) Cheers :)))

WOW!!! Free Breeze..I am glad to read you came out of the encounter alive...she sounds rather off. If you ask me, I think if she was a true mate to Keanu, she would not act like that. For some reason I think she would have much more class and dignity..understanding the importance of silence. It is one thing to be walking with the man in public and dealing with encounters. Alone..I would think his mate would just be on their way.

It's too bad the door is not on surveliance..you maybe could have captured her picture from there to give to the doorman...be safe out there kiddo!

I was an obssessed fan(but never wanted to meet him)until I reallized he was never going to get rid of that terribly ugly beard...now I'm left with the residual habit of hanging out at his boards. I used to feel the need to go and see all of his films at least twice and bring friends along. I used to feel compelled to buy every magazine that mentioned his name...now I'm not even interested in his covers, if he has any.
