Read it, you'll love it!
That look looks good on you ;) but I didn't like the book. At all. It reads like a mix of Paulo Coelho and Anne Rice - and not a good one either.

BUT stripped of the German mysticsm and other plot frills that don't lead anywhere, it COULD be turned into a good script. Maybe.

Ahem Ms. M.
If you've consumed a bookful of Coelho, your critical credibility is kinda compromised...

And if you read the book , how did you think Aronovsky's 'The Fountain' was an adaptation of The Gargoyle?

Don't tell me you read it since the original post?

I didn't "think" The Fountain was an adaptation of The Gargoyle. Didn't say that, either.
I meant that the film already treated the 'star-crossed lovers getting reunited centuries later, in different life times''love conquers all', and so on and so forth themes. So there wouldn't be a need for a screen adaptation of this particular book.

I have been feeling pretty crappy so I have been reading more. I don't have a "comforting" or compassionate home life so escaping into a good book is always welcome.
Sorry to hear that you're not feeling well, Lizaird.

Brain candy is sometimes good for the soul.:0) Have you read the Odd Thomas series by Dean Koontz? I've read the first two,(Odd Thomas and Forever Odd.) Perfect "snuggling on the coach on a dreary day" read. So are False Memory and Lightning by Koontz. Probably easy finds at a used book stores now.

I hope all is well soon.

Hi Andromeda! Nice to see ya!
Yea things are going south in a big way. As you know home stuff is pretty crappy but now to make things worse I recently spent 5 days in hospital with gall stones. I am scheduled for surgery and will see surgeon on the 20th. So on top of the depression and man-boy problem I have this to deal with. Alone as always.

Thanks for your tender thoughts. Big hugs back to ya.

The Odd Series is one I feel in love with right from the beginning. I am able to read more because Idiot child believes I am making up this illness regardless of what doctors say so he dosen't speak to me anymore - which is a good thing so I don't get interrupted while I read. Ha ha

Did you know they are finally making a movie of it?

I waiting because quite often movies of literature aren't as good, but I do like the cast.

Hope things are well in your neck of the woods!

I think Stoff is still working and producing films and putting together deals for his clients and I think that he probably had to give up on Keanu. Keanu wants to do his own thing and MAYBE there was some bad feelings over Ronin.
You may be right. Who knows for sure... but if KR has been putting as much effort into his new endeavours (writing/producing/directing) as he does for acting (which he has continued to do throughout), MAYBE Stoff got tired of hearing that the timing wasn't right for this or that....(if that's what was happening.) If that's what was happening, maybe KR thought Stoff would just keep working for him and he would continue to present/find projects until there was a project that coincided with his (KR's) schedule/availaility; and, one that he would like to do. Maybe Stoff thought better of that and decided to use his time more effectively and decided to work on forging other profitable opportunities instead. Remember, if KR is doing is own thing, then Stoff/3 Arts aren't making money off of "his stuff". So where is the incentive in working hard and tying up resources for no forseeable return?

Is that how it works? If so, I could see Stoff's side. Also, too, it was reported that KR was used to being able to speak with Stoff whenever he wanted to... and that Stoff has represented KR since he was sixteen. Well, like all parent-child relationships, kids grow up or are made to grow up.

As for Ronin, wow. Why would the director purposely under-represent the only American actor in that film? Was the director really that dumb? Could he not see his interpretation (no KR face time for the N.A. audience to identify with while watching a story that is not part of our culture,) as a CLM (career limiting move) in Universal's eyes?

Keeping KR "front and centre" is academic to me.

I didn't realize the Odd series was being made into a movie. I will have to tell my friend that (the one who put me onto the series in the first place).

Man Child - you have way more patience that anyone I know. I'd post a drink for you, but I guess you're not allowed that for fear of worsening your discomfort. So here you go, instead. http://www.google.ca/imgres... (note I skipped the dairy.):0)

God speed your procedure goes well and you're on the mend soon.

I read that erwin stoff has known keanu since he was 13, so they must have had a disagreement I feel, if he has left him.

Speaking of his sister Kim, can anyone tell me how she is, what she does, is she married, had kids, where does she live...

I also read that their mother patricia treats amanda d c like her daughter and kim and her mother are basically estranged now..is this true...

Hi...sorry to intrude. I'm Suzanne Herlihy. I'm a tv writer. The past 4 years I wrote a TV show/series for Keanu Reeves. I don't expect him to be in it! I can't afford him...lol. I'd like to show him the project? I notice that you put David Miner's imdb up? I'd like to contact him or Mr. Reeves about the project? It's called, "Blood Relatives Vampire TV series."...There is a TV show aired called," Blood Relatives."...It's about families that kill each other. It has nothing to do with my project. The fans want to call the vampire tv show/series, "The Keanu Reeves Vampire show? What are your thoughts? Thanks...Suzanne

I think you need an agent.

I don't have Miner's contact details; this kind of info is available only for IMDb Pro accounts, and I don't have that type of account. But if you contact 3 Arts, they should be able to point you in the right direction. And maybe it's better if your agent contacts them, it looks more professional.
