They have to charge high ticket prices because the theater does not have enough seats to get in a larger crowd which would reduce the prices.
When an artist charges a certain price to do a show.
The less seats, the higher Ticket prices.
The more seats the Cheaper Ticket Prices.
It's that simple.

The Ridgefield Playhouse just isn't a workable idea for this neck of the woods.

You might think it's a perfect idea to sell lawnmowers in Manhattan - the market is wide open, there isn't a single lawnmower shop in NYC. But it still won't work.

Just because there is a theater doesn't mean it is going to work as a business. I think there isn't a strong enough marketplace around here for it.

I have enjoyed several great shows at the Playhouse and hope it stays open.

Running a business like this is expensive - I doubt anyone is making alot of money.

Been to many shows there.
Hands down the BEST venue in the northeast for seeing world class live acts up close in a cozy and friendly room. There are no bad seats in the house.
The theater is well run, clean, and the sound is awesome.

The ticket prices are comparable to many shows that you pay in a much larger venue where often the sound and view are much less desirable.

The Playhouse is a rare gem.
We need to support this great theater to ensure it remains in our collective backyards.

Thanks to all who make it possible, they do an outstanding job!

New Fairfield Playhouse,
Sherman Playhouse,
Westport Playhouse. Etc.
Unless these Theaters get Donations for private individuals, they will all eventually go out of Business.
Some already have.
If the People of Ridgefield cannot support their own Theater, then nothing will keep it open for much longer.
Good Acts or not.

Some delusional people are trying to rewrite history. Bush created a massive problem. It could very well be the downfall of America. But the revisionist want to blame the kind and gentle man who is swimming as fast as he can against the tide to fix the problems.

Make up what you want today. Go ahead and kid yourself. No matter. The history books will get it right.

It does my heart good to hear that the rich folk in Richfield can't afford tickets to the Playhouse! There is a silver lining to the recession!

Daily Horoscope for December 7

Scorpio

The last thing you want right now is to be left alone, because you're feeling far too sociable for that. You're very outgoing right now, and will manage to hold your own in any social setting. If you're hoping to turn someone's head, they'll be putty in your hands once you give them the full impact of your charm and personality. They don't stand a chance!
