The level of self control and public decency of the media continues to go downhill ...heck, soon we might as well have hardcore sex on any channel at any hour .. then we can let our babies watch that instead of cartoons as we allow the TV to act as our nanny, which a lot of people do these days ...

Truly, where is the line?? When will this stop so that the line between what is publically acceptable and what should remain in the privacy between adults is actually reached?

I'm with you franko!

My god I'm so relieved to not have kids - I look at my friends who have young children & shudder to think what they are going to go through as they grow up.... surrounded by sexualisation in all the media - it's even gotten the point here in Australia that some of the shock jocks on commercial radio engage with truly inappropriate conversations with minors on sexual topics.

I guess it all comes down to how the parents actually parent & like you say whether they use the TV as a nanny.

Sometimes it is actually more enjoyable watching the build up in a movie only for them to scrimp on the actual scene and that way you can go home and act out your own ending! Lol

Hope you're well mate - sorry I haven't had a chance to reply to you on the other thread yet & off topic on this one, but I have to say my god you must have a thick skin (was reading some of the Hey Zoey! thread this morning - holy crap!)

Chat soon...

HAHAH !!@ Yep, it's gotten thicker .. this forum has been good training for that ...

Actually I enjoy trying to outsmart some of the poeple ... eventually they fall on thier own sword (ie make a mistake) and get caught ...

Not that i enjoy the crap they say about me or other people, but I don't feel like they should be allowed to say the things they say and get away with it ... that just irks my sense of justice, ya know?

I think it should be made as easy as possible for the home user to make certain shows require a parental password to be watched ... then home censoring would be easy. However, it leaves very little left to see then ...

For example, a show like FREINDS or FRASIER (are you familliar with them?) seems innocent enough .. but the characters sleep around a lot and often with people they have only jut met .. it normalizes that concept and 6 years olds and up watch those shows...

Also heck some commercials are pretty questionable ... so how to you censor those??? I guess you'd have to just block out all commercials ...

how do you explain to your 8 year old daughter why there are all those viagra and cialis commercials? WTF is ED anyhow?

Censorship is so subjective, who decides? who would censor the censors? to paraphrase, but the sexualisation of children is insidious, and present in every media, music videos in particular, but how we control it in the current open house philosophy I really don't know.

Just to say Franko, you really did a great job finding those posts the fool had altered, really showed him as 100% idiot, well done.

it has always been a fine line between censorship which shuts down open communication, and the otehr half of this being "what is the fallout of too much information innapropriatly given" ... propaganda is also an example of selective censorship .... there are downsides to either and this is why extremist points of view never work .. they are unbalanced and so as one extreme is favoured all the downsides are exagerated ....

Thank you for the props ... it was gratifying ... LOL!!!!

But as you see, the guy hasn't even got sufficient human personality to acknowledge he was bested ... and outed as a fraud. The sign of a true professional troll. As Zoey says, eventually all trolls mess up.
