Okay, so Journey just let Jeff Scott-Soto go, do you think that perhaps they ALL can now get this band back where it belongs. Neal now says he wants to go back to they they sounded before, well guess what?????????? In order to do that, do whatever you gotta do to get Steve Perry back in the group. There will never be a voice like that again. Steve Augeri was terrific, I'll give him that. I was at the Nissan Pavillion the first night that Jeff was with them, I left before the show was over and I haven't seen them since, I'll wait on line for a week if Steve Perry comes back.

I am 48 years old and have become a huge journey fan; i have listened to journey music from the beginning until present and it is without a doubt the best during the steve perry period. This is true i have never been to one of thier live shows but if steve perry were to go back with journey i would walk every step of the way to see them play together agin. I have never felt a passion for any musical group like i feel for this one.

Journey is now my new favorite band, I've listened to Dont stop Believing just for kicks, then I got hooked on that song, and couldnt get enough, I just bought the live in houston DVD back in 81 and just watched the amazing comraderie these guys had, and the sheer love they had for the audience and each other and their craft. Steve Perry's voice is monstrously versatile such as Stevie Wonder and MJ. I pray that these guys work it out, atleast come in contact and try to sort things out and rock the music scene like they once did. Even for a one night reunion with Perry or something... Please give us something!!!

This may be the first real opportunity for the full band to air their thoughts and feelings about what it would take to unite. There were some good feelings shared with each other in '06 during the Hollywood Walk of Fame ceremony. There is a lot of time to talk and heal between now and '08. Neal and Steve need to do this together early on and try to find common ground for what it would be like to work together again and so there would be fewer misunderstandings that will inevitably crop up.
Wishful thinking? Sure. But there's always a chance.

[I Totally agree!! Anything we can do to get Steve's attention to get back with the band? Or know how much he is missed and its depressing listening to his music wondering why he has been hiding this great talent for way too long now? Steve you're waaaaaaaaaay overdue! If you won't due it for yourself, come out of retirement for your fans!! The ones that have been left and feel abandoned by you and your voice... where are you Steve Perry?! Will you answer this cry for help sir? I can only dream you might...

Okay you're just being obsessive.

Steve Perry obviously cares about his "legacy". Everyone remembers and hangs on to the past Journey voice. Steve Perry does not have this voice anymore. He has his natural speaking range like most other singers which vocal damage. But in his upper registers it's trashed.

Think about it. He belted quite a bit and used operatic techniques which require pulling up the chest and forcing the notes. With training this is controllable for awhile. He used this every time he sang. After awhile the vocal folds thin out and bring down from the constant stress. They were not made for this.

During the Raised on Radio tour Steve's voice was cracking and sounding like "Peter Brady" a lot. He left. I have those shows on tape.

In 1994 I have some of his shows where he sounds like Kim Carnes when he hits the higher notes. That's predictable damage that doesn't go away. Very few singers can go years while maintaining their incredible voice.

Tom Keifer from CInderella still has a great voice after all the damage he caused from screaming so hard. He was stupid but luckily his trademark is a thrashy voice anyway.

I am amazed at how many great singers have no voice today. Air Supply sucks. Def Leppard sucks. Whitesnake sucks. I can go on but my point is very few people can keep a great voice and Journey toured way to much and pretty much blew it for Steve Perry of the new Millenium.

Why? he said he was finished with journey.all we can do now is hold up the blood stained banner and weep over days gone by. But I do love the music from the Perry era soooooooo!!! damn much and deep down in my heart I wish on every star I see falling from the sky that he and Neal can kiss and make up and get back together at least one more time before they buy the ten toes up dirt nap.

Just a thought. Right after Soto was fired, the Fan Club Web Site is being re-designed.

I think we all have to agree that Steve Perry is an exceptional singer. But his days glory days are over. He had set his songs so unreachable that he himself could not reach it anymore after all the years. Maybe that is the reason why he dosn't want to sing with Journey anymore. He was really good on his younger years but we Journey die-hards has to accept the fact that he is finished. Can he exactly sing those high-pitched he was singing before at his age? I believe he has just exhausted his sweet voice he had before. I like Journey a lot and I am not tired of listening to their old songs--never watched their concerts since Steve Perry was gone. But there is a Steve Perry 2 out there right now which I believe ca sing almost like Steve I saw in Utubes. Don't get me wrong--it is a cover but this guy is awsome! Please accept the fact that irreplaceable Steve is gone and Journey has to move on with a new singer. It does not matter where this Steve 2 came from, if he can deliver we'll give him a chance--give the brown little guy a chance. As what I have researched he is very versatile and experienced. Journey, go get this guy before Led Zeppelin or other band does, because this is the best sounding Perry clone I ever heard!

Hey, I live for Steve Perry and I would love nothing more than for him to reunite with Neal, Jon, Ross, and Smitty and bring the real JOURNEY back to life. If Van Halen, Genesis and The Police can then anything is possible. Have faith, Believe......

I love Steve Perry
I love Journey, and I wasn't born in the 80's.
The truth is, we don't know the TRUTH about what happened b/w the band members.
for all we know they could ALL be jerks.
OR it could be one big misunderstanding.
But there is no use in getting so freaking upset about somebody saying something negative about Steve Perry when you don't even know him.

I grew up on 3 bands from the 80s and Journey was the #1 band. I will never understand what makes members break up but their sound sparked a certain aura growing up (Steve Perry's voice was phenomenal). But if my #2 band, The Police can reunite, then maybe, just maybe, Steve and the boys can reconcile....but its a thought. By the way my #3 band is Bon Jovi (still rockin tough). I love strong lead singers, they really make a band (good looks don't hurt either-yum).

The Police can reunite because Sting can still sing the classics, but Steve could not sing the classic Journey songs at the same notes as what they were before. Anyone who is stucked with Perry has just to listen him on the old classic vinyl or cd not live. Come on now, the guy'd vox is damaged and could not sing those classics even he will stand on a 16-foot ladder--simple Steve cannot reach the high pitch classics no more. Have mercy, let Steve rest. He is almost 60 years old, do not force the guy.
