Steve Perry and the band have gone their separate ways, but new singer Arnel Pineda sounds exactly like him.

Arnel may sound good.. but he definately does NOT sound just like Steve Perry. There is only ONE Steve Perry.. and Arnel knows that. I do however like a couple of their songs with him.. but You say "Journey" and automatically you think of Steve Perry. And that is the reason Journey is out there in the first place. Yes there was Journey before steve perry but it wasn't gonna last for long.. they were fixin to pull the plug on the band.. Steve Perry was hired and Journey is here today. That's fact!. I do not dislike AP but I am very faithful to Steve Perry. and have been for over 30 yrs. And will always remain with him.

And as for Neal Schon.. He is the crybaby. At least Steve Perry never talks about what an idiot Neal is. How dare Neal say crap like that about him.. and everyone calls the band Neals.. Well Neal wouldn't have his precious band if it weren't for Steve Perry.. Cuz in the 70's.. it would have sank until Steve Perry came along and made them famous. Neal should kiss steve's ass. That what he should do. The idiot!!!

Hey man…. Before you go and make a permanent vote on who’s the best you need to do your home work. Because there are other people who can sing even better, Stronger and sweeter than Steve Perry himself!!!! And make journey really soar!!!! I'm kinda' new at this internet thing so i was wandering if you could tell (all) of your friends to go to youtube and check this dude out 4 me. just tell them 2 punch in; "jt cool nm warmup of Steve Perry." And check him out 4 their selves. This dude is really good because he can sing and play. Thanks dude.:-)

stevesbabe is right on correct. Arnel Pineda is good in his own right, good voice. But, he is most definitely does not sound exactly like Steve Perry. Hitting the high notes is not all there is to singing. Steve's voice is smooth in all ranges and it is natural to him. He can sing any genre and sound great doing it.

I agree. While arnel Pineda is most certainly incredible singer he is not Steve. I have Journey's new album, "Revelation" and while I enjoy a few of their new songs like, "After All These Years" and, "Like a Sunshower" I cannot STAND listening to Arnel singing Steve's songs! It isn't that he's a bad singer, I've heard some of his stuff in his previous band ZOO, but he just can't top Steve Perry at his own songs! If you are a true Journey fan you can recognize Steve's voice anywhere, you know where the ups and downs of his voice are during his songs, and when someone else sings them you can just tell wherever they miss a note, drag it out too long, go too high, go too low, or messup in the slightest. Remakes can never be held up to comparison with the original. Steve Perry will forever remain in my heart as THE voice of Journey, and Arnel... I have nothing against you.

I believe A.P. would have done better with some original tunes not so far from his own range. When I heard him he was straining to hit those high notes that Steve Perry never failed to nail... Without Steve Perry Journey sounds like just another band with nothing special holding it together. While Neal is a great guitarist he needs the voice of someone with a powerful presence to interact with. Steve Perry was that once in a lifetime Frontman who brought out the very best in those players... Too bad they didn't see it!
Needless to say, I Love Steve Perry!

I everyday listen to Steve Perry and old Journey, on the way to work and back. I've read the stories listened to the promises of new music from Steve, I just wish he would do something. As many true die heart followers that he has I think it would be very successful. And another thing I wish he would put some merchandise out there (T-shirts). You can't find anything with Steve on it. He could do it for charities or something. I have tried to listen to Journey's new stuff I just can't, and I think Neal is the best guitarist there is, I have a couple of his solo albums. But the new Journey just is working for me. Just my thoughts!
