Thanks for this wonderful article. Now I know what I am going to do on my next trip north.
I actually bought tickets...although and I used them to get in. I got there a day and a half before Friday. I won't share my chemical fuel, but I was up all four days. Up until Jimi Hendrix played when almost everyone had already gone. What was left was a stinky clay of mud and garbage. Never forget it. Yeah, and when I got home, my mother was waiting at the front door telling me how it was plastered all over the front pages and on the news. I was listening to the music of Traffic on the radio. Never forget it.

nothing but a bunch of scumbags loving to be with other scumbags who contributed nothing to society. just a colossal waste of time for upstanding people. the whole article is a bunch of crap for a bunch of pot heads.

Geez danielkc, you are a harsh person. Woodstock was a phenomenon that helped shape a culture, particularly in music for many years thereafter. You heard a great description by the author, Ms Vann, who did not embellish the story excessively and was obviously a fairly conservative young woman at the time of the festival. For anyone over the age of 50 years, that article brought about fond memories, even if you weren't actually at Woodstock.

My mom, dad , aunts and uncles were at Woodstock. They're not scumbags. Their kids became quite successful, not that it matter to a closed minded square such as your self. Forgot to take your meds?

If even 5% of the people who claimed to be at woodstock were really there, they'd have been the 5th largest country in the world, all on Max's farm. I call BS.

I have family who was there as well, and had I been a little older I would have been there right along with them! So, Doubting Travis, you can keep your BS to yourself. Woodstock was what it was, what it was meant to be and there won't ever be anything else like it. As for DanielKC, maybe you should lighten up some? Peace :)

Actually, Woodstock was the largest gathering, of many like gatherings, during that era.
Somewhere out there in Literary land, is a an interesting little paperback on the whole phenonamon of all of them, held during the sixties...it was an insightful read for preteens that watched the "elder" teens and young adult generation of that time frame..(the ones that weren't quite old enough to attend them, but old enough to understand there was a war going in VietNam)

The children of Woodstock became the robber-barrons of the late-70's and '80's, corporate prostitutes who did nothing to further the causes they so innocently and ignorantly championed in the '60's.

Eventually, we found that drugs don't work, and free love ain't all that free. We all pay eventually...

Daily Horoscope for December 7

Scorpio

The last thing you want right now is to be left alone, because you're feeling far too sociable for that. You're very outgoing right now, and will manage to hold your own in any social setting. If you're hoping to turn someone's head, they'll be putty in your hands once you give them the full impact of your charm and personality. They don't stand a chance!
