Please tell your grandfather that JR is still performing and doing good. He was in the hospital during the holidays in 2008 with pneumonia but is back to doing things
"the Rodriguez way". Love that sound!

For those interested in JR's schedule, he will be appearing at the Finish Line in Aledo, TX, just west of Fort Worth on Oct. 17th. Nov. 7th he will be playing at the Main Plaza in San Antonio for the 2nd Annual Latino Music Festival. He will be appearing at 7:30 p.m. On November 20th he will be at Ford Arena in Beaumont, TX with Gene Watson and Johnny Bush.

I met Johnny in Merced CA, when he sang opening for Tammy Waynett. They were both great. She invited Johnny out to sing with her and they both came off the stage and walked down the center, by where I was sitting..I met Johnny and got a hug from Tammy and I am Mexican Tejano too~!

I just see that most of the good people want Johnny back, and that is good. I will call my radio station 'HANK" and start requesting Johnny's songs..I have heard them play them once in a while.

I recently saw Johnny perform at the Stagecoach in Fort Worth, TX where he appears 3 times a year. Out of the 125 shows of his I have attended, this was the BEST. He sang for one hour, took a 20 minute break, and came back and sang for another hour. He sang songs both in English and Spanish with so much emotion and played the guitar as I have never seen him do. It wasn't just me who thought this was the BEST show but even some of his band members thought so. Keep it up, Johnny.
