What an embarassment, a bucket of crabs all trying to get out at the same time. The Fiesta de las Flores has been a license to steal, all in the name of scholarships for students. And most of the scholarships go to the Lulac member's own children. In the past some deserving students were denied their scholarships till a newspaper report exposed Lulac.
The players in this fiasco are questionable. Elvia Hernandez a former city rep was put in charge of the city millenium celebration in the year 2000. Elvia had a open city checkbook and her check writing cost her the election. Just short of jail. Fermin Dorado a former city rep used to office with felon Hector Villa. Villa served a federal prison term for bilking the city out of thousands of dollars.
National Lulac should dispel both councils. This Labor Day, do not give your money to these thieves.
The real & traditional Labor Day Fiesta in El Paso is the St. Anthony Seminary Bazaar. The Franciscan Padres at St. Anthony deserve your support.

I mostly agree, except that St. Anthony Seminary Bazaar part. These people are Catholic, we should not give to future pedophiles.

Wow,this is a joke. If its Fiesta de las Flores it only makes sense to leave it in the southside of the freeway where it always has been. Wrong leaders are running this organization. El Pasoans should not support a group so stubborn that will not work together. Elivia Hernandez is a joke along with her groupies. Most likely none will make a profit.

I personally dont go anymore it has gotten to expensive to take the family there. After paying the entrance, food and sometimes playing at the boots really adds up.

Now Elvia Hernandez is going to start promoting her Fiesta, as always she promotes herself. Wish all those comadres would check themselves into a nursing home in Juarez. She will push herself onto all the radio talk shows. She continues to steal public money.

I left Council 132 15 years ago because of just such infantile infighting. The kind of fights we are seeing in El Paso are going on all over the United States in LULAC. LULAC has not been a true Civil Rights Organization since Albert Armendariz served as National President. Its a shame and embarrassment that the organization has allowed itself to go down the destructive path it now travels. They need tot disband and reorganize as an organization that truly looks out for the interest of the Hispanics in the US.

Both Fiestas are a opportunity to steal. They could not steal from each other so they had to have 2 fiestas. Get a life Elvia & Fermin. El Paso continues to rot.

LULAC, La Fiesta de las Flores should represent El Paso's culture and although your venues are completely different, they DO represent El Paso accurately. In one part, the Cohen venue focuses (for the most part) in country music and the Coliseo on Mexican Grupero music, we pasenos love both types. It's just a shame that you guys couldn't organize both venues in one. Middle ground... have it in Downtown El Paso by la Plasita. Block party vatos!

Oh yeah...

By the way, just like Gringos tell mexicanos that if we don't like the United States, to GET OUT! Well, for all the people that are hating on my beautiful city of El Paso (we are a very unique city, tontos!), then GET OUT OF EL CHUCO!

Daily Horoscope for December 20

Libra

It's another day when tensions are rife and you feel stretched to breaking point. You might even totally lose your temper with someone, instead of merely snapping at them as you did yesterday. Mars stomps into reverse today, so it would be better to clear the air now with a row, and then forget all about it, rather than allowing bad feelings to accumulate and fester inside you.
