To even suggest that he was talented or did anything artistic is totally off the wall. Anyone fortunate enough to have had known someone on that show or in the industry to get that functionless job could have been a loyal "Tonight Show" sidekick. I remember reading how McMahon met Dick Clark. Both were working on TV in Philadelphia, PA, and were living in the same duplex apartment building. They worked so well together because they knew each other for so long.

McMahon was a Marine Pilot in World War II and Korea, who achieved the rank of Brigadier General. He was also a fundraiser, helping Jerry Lewis for years with the MDA telethons.
