What a fantastic idea. Steinbeck is a favorite author and I've always liked the idea of his cross-country adventure. It must have taken a lot of courage for writer Mike Lauterborn to set out and follow Steinbeck's route around the U.S. and to spend over 2 1/2 months on the road, traveling over 16,000 miles. I can't wait to read Mike's book and hope a publisher embraces it. I want to see it in my bookstore soon, and it would be so appropriate given that this year is the 50th anniversary since Steinbeck set out on the road himself!

Yeah, I've heard of this Michael Lauterborn character. His writing is amatur at best, and I would really appreciate if he would stop loading up my beloved Fairfield Sun newspaper with his rubbish articles. If his book is of the same caliber as his writing, then this is definitely one book I will not be purchasing.

Angra is obviously misguided -- and a poor speller to boot ("amatur?"). Lauterborn has done a fine job of taking the lead with the Sun and his book is eagerly anticipated by many!
