I see that John Prine has a new DVD coming out, Soundstage 1980 - I can't wait to get it! I pre-ordered it from Oh Boy records yesterday and will get it 3 weeks before it hits the streets! How's that for early present?

I hope they do the same for John's new album - here's what the Prine shrine has on it for information at
Feb 05: New CD: "STANDARD SONGS FOR THE AVERAGE PEOPLE" Street Date April 24, 2007 from Oh Boy Records. John Prine & Mac Wiseman classic-country covers album includes Lefty Frizzell's "Saginaw, Michigan''; Charlie Feathers' "I Forgot to Remember to Forget''; Ernest Tubbs' "Blue-Eyed Elaine''; Leon Payne's "I Love You Because''; and Al Dexter's "Pistol-Packin' Mama.'' Includes Stuart Duncan on fiddle, Kenny Malone on drums, Charles Cochran on keyboards and a cast of "several others".

He has a lot of concert dates coming up - I hope they plan a lot more, I love to watch Prine in concert - He just never gets old!
