John Prine has been around for ages. The first song I ever heard by him was "paradise". It's still one of my favorites. It's a protest song against Peabody's coal trains and strip mining destroying the environment.
Very seldom is Prine played on radio stations. I have always wondered why. But, I guess, it's because he pisses off a lot of "Peobody's".
I say that Prine is as good as dylan when it comes to musical talent and lyrics. He should be a lot bigger star but maybe he never wanted to be a superstar.
