As far as I know, the great United States of America still values freedom of speech. Maybe all you people making uninformed comments about this should look into that. Writing something on the internet is not a crime. These guys can say whatever they want. You people need to read a book or something.

Slander and libel are crimes, internet or not.
The Air Force fired a sergeant for posing nude in Playboy. Had nothing to do with her performance.

Yes, they can say whatever they want as private citizens. But they can't say whatever they want as officers of the police department. The department can and should regulate what an officer says when representing themselves as agents of the department. That's what got this idiot in trouble. So don't try to make it a freedom of speech issue.
