1 Under the rules of logic, you can not prove a negative. It is therefore, the responsibility of those who say be is a native-born American citizen to prove as such beyond a reasonable doubt. While I personally believe that Obama is a native born citizen, I think that his defenders are only adding fuel to the fire by not producing clear cut documents and proof of his status. This, then, incites the conspiracy crowds and - justifiably- encourages the belief that there is a coverup going on. Showing genuine proof, instead of heresay, is the only way to end this debate. |

2 He has shown his birth certificate to the satisfaction of even Congress. They've even dug up his newspaper birth announcements. The real question here is what "proof" will they finally believe enough to shut the hell up? The whole argument is ridiculous. The man's politics are enough to gripe about without having to keep going on about with this birther crap. READ. FACT CHECK. VOTE. |

1 Sorry, but anything that Congress approves, esp. when it is his own party in charge, if suspect. He could solve all these issues if he would allow the news media to see, verify, and publish the documents. If they have been published, please provide a link so this issue can be put to rest. Unfortunately, there will always be some people who do not accept it though. Much in the same vein as the so called "9-11 truthers", Kennedy murder, and Halliburton conspiracy theorists. |

1 Giggling over unemployment numbers in a 60 Minutes interview, or giving a glib "shout out" to a member of the audience before announcing the tragic news from Fort Hood. She also ponders the odd fact that no one seems to remember him much from his days at Columbia, or from his days at the Harvard Law Review. She considers that in his books, he confesses to not enjoying the company of other people. She considers the conventional explanation of his behavior: narcissism; high functioning autism; schizophrenia. Then, she examines his childhood and raises the possibility that PBO just never learned how to care about other people. He arrived in adulthood as a blank slate, ready for others to transform according to their needs. Obama's identity seemed to have been formed when he found his clan: Rev. Wright, Bill Ayers, and Bernadine Dohrn. But these are disconnected people, misfits who aren't comfortable in their own skin. Their radical ideology arises from rage and alienation. They, like Obama, treat people with disdain. I don't have any conclusions, I just found it an interesting and worthwhile article. http://snipurl.com/t6rkv He's as blind as he can be, Just sees what he wants to see Nowhere Man can you see me at all? |

2 Not that it will help but this is the finding from just three of the many, many fact check sites: http://www.factcheck.org/elections-2008/born_... http://www.politifact.com/truth-o-meter/artic... http://ss659.fusionbot.com/cgi-bin/ss_query... If you google fact check sites it will list them all. |

4 Second, the fact that a person does not present proof to refute absurd back-handed accusations is proof of nothing. If the President held a press conference tomorrow, and started leveling absurd accusations that Bill O'Reilly had not paid his taxes last year, the fact the fact that O'Reilly refused to release his tax records would not be proof that O'Reilly did not pay his taxes. If you want to accuse someone of something, then do it. Make your accusation, and be prepared to prove its truth. Don't just parrot absurd innuendo, and then point to the accused person to disprove your accusation. The fact that Fox News has made an art of skating just on the thing edge of slander, by making accusations through innuendo and then backing away from them, does not make those accusations are proof of anything. |

1 Sorry, Pal. Attempting to denegrate my statement with your first sentence comprised of pseudo-academic blather has NOTHING at all to do with this issue. I know it is the Karl Rovian and Rush Limburgian tactic to attempt to "bait and switch" on hard issues, but it won't do in this case. Stick to the topic. |
