So much for the quick conviction the Righties were looking for. The longer this goes on, the better for Edwards. Clearly the perse...er, PROSEcution hasn't proven their case.

As someone who is night a rightie or a leftie which to be honest is a completely ignorant statement and apparently you are a leftie, It doesn't matter what party you support, look at the evidence presented at the trial and form your own opinion not based on party division.

He's not a "lefty," more your garden variety liberal. And while he's no prize, this isn't about crimes but about smearing him and ending his political career. A partisan persecution.

Wow, I NEVER would've thought of a brilliant idea like that, thanks! Wow, that just puts a whole 'nother fact on the thing...look at the evidence? Amazing

/sarcasm off

Got any evidence he's guilty ACCORDING TO THE EVIDENCE, genius?

This has nothing to do with his wife. If we were able to put everyone in jail who cheated on his spouse half of us would be jail. This is about campaign fraud. Note lying to his wife. Stay on task.

The notes are what will hang him. Bunny's "This is to save America" and Baron's " Old Chinese Proverb, Use Cash, not Credit Cards" demonstrate intent to conceal, as well as purpose, ie.'Save America' those funds were intended for the campaign, and Fred's were intended to circumvent the campaign finance laws. He's guilty as sin....

Ray Charles could see that....

While the overwhelming majority of the politicians who portray themselves as great liberals and wonderful humanitarians are actually nothing more than phonies, demagogues, charlatans, parasites, and pathological liars, however even by that "standard" John Edwards is unusually phony and sleazy.
Related to that, the most talented actors and phonies are not in Hollywood but instead are in politics. So therefore each year we should give an additional set of Academy Awards, and with this additional set going not to actors but instead to the politicians who over the past twelve months did the best job of pretending to be wonderful human beings while actually being total frauds, charlatans, demagogues, and ripoff artists.
In fact, perhaps the Olympics could also add competitions in which the lawyers and politicians from each country, and such as John Edwards, would every four years get up on stage to see who could tell the biggest, most ridiculous, and most outrageous lies.
Or if we decided that the competition in who could tell the biggest lies would be restricted only to amateurs, and with no professional liars allowed, then everyone would be allowed to compete except for lawyers.

I don't agree and either does Ray Charles. Gov has to prove elements of the alleged crime. 1. Did donors intend the money to be campaign funds AND did Edwards know that they were campaign contributions. They haven't proved either element.

What's he looking at? 6 felonies? I'd make book, that given the information requested by the jury during deliberations, they return a guilty verdict on at least one charge if not more. The request for the two notes gave me the impression he would be found guilty on two counts. One of the charges is so simple a caveman could find him guilty. Simply put, he lied to federal investigators. ie. Obstruction of Justice. "I didn't know anything about it" while he kept boning the fluzzy. I'd be surprised if he's not convicted on that charge even if he skates on the other 5, and the judge, if he get's to sentence him, he'll slam him over the outlandish behavior of Hardy, the defense attorney.

You may be right, but the entire case smells like the botched Senatir Ted Stevens Gov railroad job. Those US Attorneys all fired for misconduct

FYI there was a guy in CT, Frank Rocco, last Mov that the Feds. Barged him with 56 felony charges. All bullshit. Jury acquitted him of all charges. The Gov prosecutors and agents make it a habit of lying so they can appear justified in the actions.
