Now they're lying about what Obama said about redistributive policy during a radio show years ago.

Why is it that the Republicans must always lie about what precisely a Democrat has stated?

They always seem to suggest that Democrats speak in some sort of code, whereby Democrats understand what is being said, but the Democratic politician speaks in code so the rest of the world will not be able to discern what is being said.

So the Republican pundits claim they are just decoding what was said.....rather than repeat exactly what was stated.

A good example was when Bill Clinton stated he did not have "sexual relations" with that woman. They always paraphrased that to Bill Clinton saying he did not have "sex" with that woman, thus obviating the need to define "sexual relations" and whether it included oral sex.

Here the Republicans are doing the same thing with Obama's discussion about "redistributive change."

Take a look at business on any main drag in any town or city. Obama wants to tax them more because they're considered 'rich'. Is this really what CT or the nation needs now (or anytime)? More taxes on small & midsized business... A vote for Obama is a vote for bringing business (big & small)to its knees.
Joesela, Joesela, meine liebe freunde
Hs been reported many times Obama Wishes to tax personal income over 250k not repeat not total income not business income. There is a difference.
What is going from 90% of the wealth of this country being owned by 5% of the population (begining Reagan Era and bad enough) to 95%W owned
by 2%P, other than wealth distribution of the most obscene and crapulent order?

Colin McEnroe has always been, and always will be, a left wing loon. McEnroe is an elitist who is nothing more than a hack yet thinks he is better and smarter than anyone else.

I love the line about how Obama was "accosted"....LOL. That's a good one Colin, got any more bilgewater you can pump ?

I once inadvertently landed on his radio show in the afternoons. I had to turn the station before his blathering nonsense started to give me a headache.

McEnroe is the typical liberal. He thinks government is the answer to every single problem in this country. He doesn't understand that, for the most part, government IS the problem.

Colin, do all of Connecticut a favor. Crawl back into your cave and never come out.

Obama, Dems Seek to End 401(k) Plans
By Mark Impomeni
Oct 24th 2008 9:00AM

Sen. Barack Obama's Democratic allies in Congress are looking into a radical new plan that would fundamentally change the way Americans save for retirement. House Democrats recently heard testimony on the idea and, under a potential Obama administration, would likely move to put it in place. Democrats want to seize the money that workers currently invest in their 401(k) plans and replace the popular retirement savings accounts with a one-size-fits-all government sponsored retirement account. Under the scheme, Americans would be forced to transfer all of their hard earned retirement savings from their 401(k) to the government.

The government would contribute $600 a year to fund each account and would pay a rate of return of around three percent in interest. The government would also mandate that each worker contribute 5% of their yearly salary to the accounts. Under current law, workers with 401(k) plans contribute to their retirement accounts and earn interest tax free. The Democrats' plan would end those tax breaks, amounting to as much as a 15% tax hike on each American worker.

Rep. Jim McDermott (D-WA) said recently that Democrats had better ideas for the $80 billion that Americans contribute to their 401(k) plans each year. "We have to start thinking about whether or not we want to continue to invest that $80 billion for a policy that's not doing what we say it should." Sen. Obama would likely sign on to the plan as president.

Obama, McDermott, and Congressional Democrats miss the point that under current law, Americans have control over their retirement savings, where and how it is invested, and when and how much they contribute. The idea to nationalize retirement savings is another example of Democrats' socialist proclivities. They want control of Americans' retirement to reside in Washington DC, not on Main St., all in the name of "retirement security."

Actually the truth of FDIC insurance is pathetic in itself. Do you know if the FDIC wants to they can reimburse your money to you over a 15 year period??? Most people don't know that, they just think they will get a check as soon as the paperwork is sorted out. Not the case, the higher the deposit the more likely it is that you'll wait the max amount of years for your return. FDIC insurance is nothing more of a better joke pulled over the very eyes of the people who'll believe anything..........The new boys in town want to raise the amount insured under FDIC, but if you look into the payback period they want to raise is 10 more years (though I'm positive they will get at least 5 out of that), so now when your bank goes under FDIC will pay you like your local lottery system does and they'll make a killing off of it while it sits there for the 20 years too!!

You forgot some adjectives - he is also rude and arrogant. He regularly demeans people who call into his show and makes fun of them once their calls are over.

And, in spite of what he says on his blog he doesn't know what "accost" means and the way it has evolved in common usage. Then on his blog he tries to denigrates those who point out to him that he is wrong.

I think he's jealous because Joe the Plumber is smarter and more famous than he is. And has better hair.

The McCain contingent who by the way worked for BUSH have a cute way of twisting the truth around and then politicizing it. Imediately the mindless followers of McCain-bush jump on it which amounts to throwing a calf to a bunch of hungry Pirranas.
However, the people they are trying to influence and win over Independents and the intelligent fence sitters see it as a ploy and it turns them off and they vote for Obama. The polls show it and i expect by Nov 3rd there will be an even wider margin.
Obama is a clear choice for me as a Vet because McCain voted against veteran benefits and it ticked me off.
The other reason is after 36 yrs i'm retiring and will get a full tax benefit from Obama Plan plus i'll be able to collect my SS at 62. McCain wants to raise the age so you'll die and never collect it, nice plan mcSame.
I just think Obama will be a difference maker in world politics.
He sees people on every level and all our partners in europe like him much better than McCain. McCain is more likely to cause world war three with his standoff military ego. Now's not the time to beat our chest, it's time to join the world community!
OBama for president!
OK - so the guy just works for a plumber and isn't licensed himself or own the business?

He had a chance to ask Obama a question about his tax policies would affect him if he did own his own business someday. What was he supposed to do - go into his entire resume and life story while Obama stood patiently listening?

I'm sure he never expected his question to cause such a national stir.

Joe the Plumber is not running for President. His hypothetical question is legitimate, even if he exaggerated a little.

Obama IS running for President. The problem was not Joe's question, but Obama's answer. Obama has told many more lies and hidden many more things about his background than Joe ever did. And that is truly distrubing, because he is misleading us as to who he actually is - a tactic straight from Saul Alinsky.

All these attacks on Joe are red herrings.
