Was he equipped with a parachute?

If he was that explains the two locations. As for the other location of clothes and ID "tangled in a bush," no bones, something is wrong.

Wow, the conspirace theorys are already coming on strong. The NTSB will determine the cause, everyone relax until the professionals come up with an educated explanation as to the cause. After 13 months in the outback, it is plausible that no human remains would be found.

I'm curious why it took a civilian hiker to find the wreckage when the so-called professionals should have found it long ago if they knew how to properly do a search and rescue?

An animal would have carried away a fresh arm or a leg but as for the torso, back and rip cage, they don't do that. It's eaten on the spot then the bugs, buzzards and the weather get it. Even so it would not have been carried very far and it's only been over a year.

He apparently bailed out or him and his clothes, ID and money would have been obliterated in the wreck.

The Mammoth newspaper said the wreckage was found just east of the Minarets at about 10,000 ASL. I know this area well, and I find it strange that it wasn't discovered much earlier. There are a lot of high country backpackers that frequent the lakes just below the Minarets.

I have a "killer" kittycat, she kill and eats everything in the 3 acres around my house: mice, birds, rats, moles, even rabbits as big as her. She eats everything including hair and bones, leaving only the lower intestines.

I am sure wild animals do the same thing, there is nothing left of Steve to find except some large bones.

If you could see this area, you will see that it if difficult to fly low in that area, because it is a valley surrounded by ridges and peaks that are 11,000 - to well over 13,000 feet high. If you know anything about mountain flying, there will be lots of turbulence and down drafts in that area. Look at it on a topo map and you will see.

Why do you let the cat kill everything? Can't you feed it? Wish it lived next to my dog!
