This is true, and to that I say, their opinion is not similar to my opinion or yours because they have some power to make their opinion into law. When Republicans were in complete power, they gave tax breaks to wealthy people. I had no objection, and I didn't gloss over it as they are expressing an opinion--their Constitutional right to such opinion. I knew they had the power to do what they believed in.
So the question is, do you agree with her opinion or not?
I believe if people decide to take her advice and turn in their guns, then yes, I agree with her, but if people wish to keep their weapons in which I am one that also is acceptable.

Again my stand is on military type weapons and extended magazines in which gun nuts choose in a majority of mass school shootings should be banned.

So if the gunman comes in with a double barrel shotgun, the teachers and janitors would have to be concealing double barrel shotguns to return fire with?
Let me ask you something. Which weapon has the fastest rate of fire, an AR-15, or a Springfield Armory XDM?
I don't know the answer to the gun question. Really does not matter.
The point is for a teacher or janitor to have firepower to equal what Mass School Shooters have been utilizing, they would need to be armed with assault weapons holding equal number of rounds or more.

They would need special training. We don't,(usually) give drivers licenses to people who cannot drive and people who can't use guns proficiently shouldn't have the right to carry them.
Training should be similar to the kind of training the Navy Seal Sniper who was murdered had, if they will be carrying guns in schools with our children.

With that line of thinking, you can believe in the tooth fairy too, but that doesn't make her a living being.
I posted a video (which you refuse to look at) on how fast a magazine can be changed, yet you still insist that smaller magazines will save lives. You're too closed minded to think outside of the box. They won't save lives. Not one.
I'm not worried about one child's life. I'm worried about all of them which is why schools need firearms either in the hands of a trained security guard or teachers and administrators. That will save more than one life. So it's up to each school district if they wish to have that kind of protection--not the Democrats.
Are you still referring to that cartoon {youtube} video? If you are so adamant I view a video on replacing gun magazines then find a video on a creditable media. As I have told you on numerous occasions I do not accept anything of a serious nature with an organization that is so amatuer and ridiculus.

If you are challenging me to change my attitude on this scenerio you are "kicking a dead horse" as I will not use this dumbing of America nonsensical avenue.

You are an idiot. Semi auto handguns can fire back at semi auto rifles with the same rate of fire. Both will fire as quickly as the operator can squeeze the trigger. One shooter has no advantage over one or more armed teachers and janitors.

People who get a CCL already go through special training to get said license. You act like they get it out of a gum ball machine.

It amazes me that idiots insist on debating a topic they are ignorant of.

most parents won't settle for an ordinary CCW permit when it comes to their children. Navy Seal Training it is.

So what are you looking for to change your mind--a written account of how little time it takes to drop a magazine and insert another one? You would prefer that instead of seeing it for yourself?

As I stated earlier, you don't have to watch the video for me to prove my point. Ask anybody with a semi-automatic weapon to show you, or go to a gun store or firing range and perhaps somebody there will give you a demonstration. Rent a gun and try it for yourself! It's really not that hard. Push a button, the magazine drops, pop another one in it's place. That's it.

But something tells me you did watch the video. It's just that you don't like it because it proves my point. Smaller magazines will not save one life.

So if you're walking on the street with your child, and you are attacked, you don't trust somebody with CCW training to save your child's life?

The reason for classes and testing is so that people who are licensed to use their firearm can do so with safety. It matters not if we are in the range of an adult, senior citizens, or a child. We are licensed to use our firearm in any given situation where we believe our lives (or serious bodily harm) are at risk or that of another.

If the government really felt that Navy Seal training was needed to protect children, then they wouldn't allow citizens to carry firearms with CCW training out in the street.

Fair enough. Then you don't agree with her. She wants to make all semi-automatics illegal be it rifle or handgun.

That is apples to oranges XX. Very different than a school with a few hundred kids running around.

If a shooter having to change a Magazine saves even 1 child, then it is worth it. This is not the Wild West and there cannot be shootouts where there are a bunch of children.

Well there are shootouts with a bunch of children. The problem is that there is nobody to challenge the shooter once he gets into that school.

The issue is that changing a magazine takes a fraction of a second, and will not save one child's life. An armed teacher or janitor may not only save one life, but several.

The proposals offered are comparable to having a three alarm building fire, and asking the beer drunk to psss the out the fire. It does very little good.

What we need are solutions--not something that you assume "might" work because it looks good for politics. That's what the Democrats are proposing right now.

No, it was not. My "contention" was that she wants to ban all semi-automatic weapons.

If the victim has time to pull his weapon while you are reloading and puts a slug in a vital spot yes most definitely a shooter can be dropped before he can reload.
Black belt in what arts?
I studied seven years in Kenpo. But any kind of martial arts teaches you to fight from any angle from any position.

We only learned one move for taking a gun away, and that was a scenario of a person holding a gun to your belly like they did in those 1960's type of movies. Even then, you have little chance of defending yourself against a gun.

Unless you can successfully sneak up behind a shooter, you have virtually no chance at disarming him.

Then shouldn't the issue be keeping those shooters out of schools and keeping those kind of weapons out of the shooters hands if possible?
There are some simple steps that can make access to Weapons Of Mass Destruction and entry to schools more difficult and even impossible. Why don't we try that instead of Arming teachers and janitors and trusting them to act safely in a situation they never before encountered.

You are humoring yourself if you think smaller clips or assault weapons being illegal will stop a kook from going into a school and forcing parents to bury their kids at Christmas time. Again, no law was suggested that would stop the next school shooting. If there was a law proposed that would, I would be all for it.
It's already against the law to go into a school and murder kids.
