Special election in NY takes surprise turn

With the Republican out of the race and unions lining up behind their candidate, national Democrats on Monday used a high-profile campaigner and ramped up get-out-the-vote efforts to try to grab a congressional seat in a district held for decades by the GOP.

This is the most important election tonight, I think, and I'll be following those returns most closely. With the huge GOP registration margin, it will be interesting to see how many vote, and how many seem to be voting for the conservative, and how many for the Democrat. What Guiliani is doing just proves what an opportunist he is. When Gingrich is more fair and balanced than another person, that other person is really a wild extremist! I am not surprised that the GOP candidates for President - potentially in 2012 - were up there for Hoffman. Trying to court the ultra-right-wing extremists~
