What Stall said about public schools, aka 'Government Schools' was right on the mark. Learn about the origination of the public schools and their purpose during the industrial revolution. They were careful not to produce 'Men of Letters' that could threaten factory bosses. Stall's letter about public schools had the same affect on the masses like a pastor who gives a uncomfortable sermon. I've met mant parents who feel guilty about sending their kids to such pitiful schools. Parents often choose to put their children in public schools with 'teachers' who have little subject expertise, but have an 'education' degree. If you have ever attend an 'education' class at a university, you will see what statistics back up; that education majors score in the lowest quintile on standardized tests such as the GRE, GMAT, and the LSAT.

Here's the problem I have right now with Virginia Republicans. The local City/County caucuses on the Peninsula seem to be controlled by folks who have only one agenda - lower taxes at all cost or putting up a candidate who they think is morally superior to the candidate currently in office.

We have a local party chairman sold out to Tom Gear, with all of his shady problems, because of his Stepford-like stance on taxes. My personal values and integrity will never allow me to vote for him. I will vote independent or democrat in that race until the locals embrace the idea of opening up the process for another republican to challenge him.

Here we had a senior republican in Marty Williams who had important committee chairmanships and was in a position to help the Peninsula. He wasn't perfect. But, using the transportation issue to mobilize a primary to unseat him for the likes of Tricia Stall??? Are you kidding me??? She was over her head from day one. Her only platform was the self-proclaimed moral high ground that left her without enough support to win a majority in a conservative senate district. At least some of us took the time to listen and think before casting our ballots. You locals are out of touch and directly responsible for losing the senate majority for MY party. I'm angry about it. So, I will remain a member of "Republicans for John Miller and Gordon Helsel" until you idiots get it right. I am a republican. I want to vote republican. But, I won't do it until you show me some worthy candidates and stop speaking out of both sides if your mouth.

Hopefully the "Republicans for Miller (etc)" will remember that this door swings both ways. So when the Repubs roll out some RINO, please remeber that we don't have to support the nominee of the party either!
