I truly feel for you, NOT! Please a grown man doesn't have enough will power to say no to a child! This makes men sound pathetic and if that is the case then who wants them, they only want to take advantage of those easily taken advantage of.
Come on now Sammy....when a 19 and 14 year old have consensual sex and they have been in a relationship for awhile, HOW DO U CONSIDER THAT RAPE? LOOK at these girl's today ,how are you supposed to know if they are lying or not? Most of them are well over developed!Im sick of you racists people....LOOK at the facts before you go and JUDGE someone !!!!!

In 99 my husband got in trouble for sleeping with a minor who lied about her age. Now it's been 11 years and we still haven't been able to move on with our lives. How do we do that when they are making the laws so difficult , we are losing homes, jobs and family and friends. They are making our lives a living hell. we have 4 children, how do we support these four children and give them what they need if the govt is making it so hard for us. Screw you Florida, your all going to be under water soon enough !!!!

I am currently going through this right now. My boyfriend was arrested a week ago for inappropriately touching my daughter. He is an alcoholic and has had such a horrific childhood. My daughter had confided in someone and the police were called. I don't know if this makes me a sick mother but both my daughter and I have no hateful feelings...we actually still love him and want him to get help. We know that he didn't mean to do this...alcohol made him a different person. I know he was wrong but I know deep in my heart...he didn't mean this. My daughter still considers him a father. We miss him and I don't know what to do. I know I will be judged by everyone and looked down upon. But I believe in God and I believe people deserve a second chance.

If there are degrees of murder, burlgery and assault etc. why don't they have degrees of a sex offense? I do know in the state of Florida the one form of defense you CAN NOT use is "She lied about her age". I don't think it is right for a person who had consentual sex with someone 16 yrs old who obviously looks much older and has stated she is much older, to be charged with a sex offense case and forced to place themselves on the registery for the rest of their lives.

Men, we have all been there, dating someone under the age of 18 because they have said they are older and they look older. The only difference is, 97% of us have not been caught or turned in by her parents or jealous friends. And women, you know you were also there when you were young trying to date the older men so you fancy yourselves up and make yourselves look much older than your true age and tell people you are older than you are.

I just think these people should not be charged with a crime...definitely not one that is punishable by registering for life. People these days see the label "sex offender" and automatically assume that person was definitely messing around with a child.

Don't get me wrong, I don't accept those true sex offenders that have raped and done horrible things to children 14 and younger. And of course if someone is clearly making a habit to take advantage of teens 15-17 then I can understand the law.

How do we get it put into law where they make degrees of sex offenses and to change what constitutes a person registering for life as an offender thus ruining their life forever?

The Fla. Sex offender laws are so hosed up, it is a travesty.
Most people do NOT know the difference between a sex PREDATOR (ie a pedophile) who has a diagnosed illness and preys on children VERSUS a poor boy who has a girl lie or change her mind about a 3 second sex encounter (he said-she said); or a 16 year old having consensual sex with a 15 year old. EVERYONE IS PLACED ON THE SAME REGISTRY --- MAKING THE REGISTRY USELESS.
I have filed a Dec Action to have the law declared unconstitutional. I will win!!! Rich Gorman.
How can we address this issue? I have written to several congressmen and have heard NOTHING back from them.

It is not fair. I know young men who have spent time in prison for such stupidity. They are not at fault! Nothing has really changed throughout time, except in some ways we are back in the middle ages. How do we go about making changes? Writing congressmen and judges has not done any good. They do not seem to care.

Corporate Media Figures If It Screams 'CONDIT!' Loud Enough, the Public Won't Notice the DEAD Woman in Joe Scarborough's Office
27-Jul-01
Joe Scarborough
"ConditLevyConditLevyCond itLevyConditConditLevyConditLe vy..." and that concludes tonight's news.... But wait! What's that we hear under the ConditLevy din? A female aide DIED in Joe Scarborough's office? No one knows how or why? What's that - the medical examiner Michael Berkland refuses to disclose any details? What's that about a toxicology report? And what's that about Scarborough, who ran as an UNCONTESTED CANDIDATE in his district, suddenly deciding to resign from his office just a few weeks before the attractive 28-year-old's death? What do you have to say about that, NBC, ABC, CNN, NY Times, Washington Post? "ConditLevyConditLevyCond itLevyConditLevyConditLevy. " That's what we thought you'd say!

Maybe if your husband kept it in his pants you wouldn't be in this predicament. There are consequences to your avocation. There is no sympathy for you.

I am married have four children and I am in a situation just like this with my husband and it really sucks these laws they have! Makes it very hard to survive. They should continue to focus on the real sex offender's and predators and leave the BS alone!

I really hope something is done about this because both my brother and husband are considered sexual offenders because of little girls who lied. Brother was in love with a girl that turned around and said she was forced into it and my husband was blamed for touching a girl and now I am forced to raise our daughter by myself for 2yrs and dont even know if he will be able to help when he comes home. So good luck with this I really hope it pulls through.

Your not sick you just know who your husband truly is. Im kinda going through something similar. My husband was drinking at his friends house and was going to stay the night instead of drive home and his friends younger sister who liked him decided to start rubbing on him and things progressed..Basically we know who are husbands truly are and how they are..all we can do is stand by there side and keep strong and help them fight through all the judgement because thats sadly all your gonna get from those who don't know him or your family.
