A creative overhaul in the pilot phase need not be damning for a new TV series. Sometimes you get a show like "Brothers & Sisters," which started off rough, but came out of its troubled genesis as a stronger ... Full Story

I really really like this show. Each eppy gets better as you learn more about the characters & you care about them. Hope the network gives it a long enough chance to grow an audience. It also helps the Alex is very easy on the eyes!

Brilliant review, I wish the show was as good. It's just plain awful, and Sophia is the most distressing, she can act and act very well, but this is not the right vehicle for her and it shows. If you are going to do a vampire story, please read some of the gothic masters and get an idea of plot, this is just badly done without any understanding of the genre. Roll on True Blood, I hope they do a better job.

I'm a 40 year old happily married mom of three boys and I haven't been this excited about a show since I was a teen. I can't wait for Friday nights! Forget about comparisons to other shows...who cares about others' take on the vampire genre? It's make-believe right? Don't fault the writers for having a different view of vampire lore. Each week the show gets better and better. I personally think Alex and Sophia have great chemistry. I hope CBS will renew this show for next year. If not, I guess I'll just wear out the DVD's when the season comes out.

Moonlight is keeping me home on Friday nights. The chemestry between Mick and Sophia is so intense... keep it there!! I love it!
The writing is superb, the Mick's character is misterious, tender, brutal and SEXY and Sophia is growing as a woman right in front of our eyes... she'll catch up with 80+ years old Mick in no time, but not yet please. The show is spellbinding and Iam bind to the TV when it is on.

I completely disagree. I find Moonlight one of the most exciting shows in a long time. Yes, the writing could be better, there could be more in depth plots, but overall, the show is action packed, exciting to watch and I look forward to watching it with an eagerness that I haven't felt in quite some time. To top it off, to watch Alex O'loughlin act with his even temper, knowing what lies just beneath the service, is sexy as hell.

They can make 'How I Met Your Mother' look Emmy-worthy in comparison to this. And 'Ghost Whisperer' is way off and I have no idea who watches these to make them such 'big hits'.'Moonlight' is obviously the biggest rip-off there ever was. It gathers most of it's 'plot' from the much superior 'ANGEL', the rest are...well, there is no definite rest. I mean, I could see that Mick was Angel, Beth was Kate and Coraline a knock-off of Darla (Mick is the the one to kill her, just like Angel is the one to dust Darla, his sire, for a blonde girl..) And yes, they do a lot of mytho-butchering.

I think the only thing I liked was Josef. His character was the only one in the show to be even remotely original.

I don't know about all of you, but I like the show. Vampires are the coolest things walking undead around the world of fiction and they are awesome. I'm very strict when it comes to storylines and plotlines since I am a writer and screenwriter myself, and this plotline is absolutely superb. It takes me away from the stress and bore of reality and into a world that I wish I could live in. There needs to be more primetime shows about dark creatures like Vampires, since I love lore about thm and lycans (werewolves).80

We must not be watching the same TV show, because I find Moonlight extremely entertaining. The show has everything: action, romance, intrigue, etc. And if someone named Danielle reviewed it instead of Daniel, she would notice that Alex O'Loughlin is 100% sex appeal! I can't wait for Friday night, and neither can my teenaged daughter!

I had stopped watching prime time T.V. since "Angel" ended.Tried "Blood Ties"couldn't stand it.But I can't wait for Friday night and "Moonlight".How can you compare it to "Angel",there are no demons, ghouls, werewolves, etc(a lso Mick is sooooo much sexier then Angel ever was).Everything is real except the concept of Vampires and by the way since they are not real I love that they have changed some of the old tired rules.Beth and Mick have great chemistry, and I loved that I didn't have to wait 20 episodes to see the spark lit.I hope there are enough Vampire lovers out there to keep this show on the air.

Well, I wouldn't say its "straight-up awful"- it's sort of in between for me. It's not really awful, but it's not really phenomenal either. I'm still sticking around to watch it though because the story lines and the actors seem to be improving.

I agree about, Sophia Myles "working so hard to cover her rounded British tones that she can't bother to act."- when she kept appearing on-screen and talking in her pseudo-American accent, I cringed. It was very forced and sounded incredibly deeper than it should be and then she clearly slipped in the pilot evading the creepy, vampire-wannabe follower, which discouraged me from watching the show a bit. However, in the later episodes, she either seems to be growing on me, or she's improving, but I think it's the latter.

In addition, flashbacks of Mick and Coraline's past is rather cheesy. Perhaps it's either Shannyn Sossamon inability to act or its the horrendous script lines she's been given. As long as the flashbacks aren't too frequent, I think I'll stick around. Ironically though, I am a bit intrigued with the episodes about Coraline being a human and haunting Mick- it's just the flashbacks that I just can't stand.

Jason Dohring's character Josef is amusing, so I'll be sticking around because of that. And Alex O'Loughlin isn't too bad either- looks or acting wise. If I didn't look him up, I would have never known he's an Aussie. The accent he uses reminds me of someone who might have Italian roots, but grew up in America- although there are some occasions in which he doesn't seem to have inflection like the critic said, but at least it didn't come off as too unnatural like Myles.

In conclusion, I'm still going to be hanging around and watch the show- I still believe this show can grow and improve over time. On a final note, I kinda wish the fight scenes were a bit longer. The Black Crystal or whatever episode and this week's episode with the newly-turned, murderer vamp guy that escaped from jail had incredibly short fight scenes lasting only a couple of minutes.

I have to agree 100% only I am a 59 year old woman who, by all accounts, is pretty much the norm around town. I can't tell you how many times I've not answered my phone so MOONLIGH isn't interrupted. My Friday night is my Friday night with this cast and show. I hope it becomes one of those that lasts for at least a few years so the characters can grow and mature.

I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE THIS SHOW! ALEX O'LOUGHLIN IS SO HOT AND SEXY AND ABSOLUTELY SUITED IN THIS ROLE, AND I TOTALLY AGREE WITH MOST OTHERS IN TERMS OF THE CHEMISTRY BETWEEN MICK AND BETH. I REALLY HOPE CBS DOES NOT CANCEL THIS SHOW...I SWEAR I WILL NOT WATCH ANOTHER SHOW ON CBS IF THAT SHOULD HAPPEN! BTW, DOES ANYONE KNOW IF THERE ARE ANY MORE SCHEDULED EPISODES. I LOVED THE SHOW LAST NIGHT, BUT THERE WERE NO PREVIEWS FOR ANY FURTHER EPISODES. YIKES!

Vicious! But indeed true. Moonlight is another one of the series, that is going to get cancelled before anyone thinks twice about it. But who knows, it might surprise us... wait... I'm lying.
