James Garner hospitalized after stroke

James Garner's publicist says the veteran TV and film star has been hospitalized in Los Angeles after suffering a minor stroke at his home last week.

I was very fortunate to meet the gentleman on board a troop ship, homeward bound from Korea during the Korean war.We talked, as well as others, of what his future would hold in the film industry.I wish him well and I value these moments in life that I so fondly remember.

As a child, I was a huge fan of the Rockford Files. Hope Mr. Garner recovers quickly.

Was that the movie where they were driving along and Jack Lemmon starts singing, "Hail to the Chief" ? He was, I believe, making up the words to the song. It cracked me up. Never forgot it. "Hail to the Chief, he's the Chief and we all Hail him". Ha Ha I love James Garner and gawd was he ever handsome back in the day.

he also starred in three REALLY great western movies...support your local sherriff...support you local gunfighter...and teamed with a young lou gossett jr in the skin game...i have EVERY rockford episode on dvd...and view one per evening at bedtime...he is just great...
