Peter, Peter' Peter, when will you learn that comments like that express homophobisa that is hidden because "i love you , your my son (daughter), i want you to be happy" but that doesn't include the rest of us and they don't want to see or deal with us as equals. WE ARE A THREAT TO THEM, WE ARE NOT THE SAME AS THEY ARE. oh and by the way the picture of your dad makes him look faggier than most of the men i have slept with.( think maybe Queer eye for the str8 critic is over due)

1. I thought Gene Shalit is gay.
2. What's the big deal with calling the character a "sexual predator"? doesn't seem homophobic at all, as could easily apply to heteros too.

1. No, he's just from another planet.

2. I don't see the "big" deal either, but I can understand where his critics are coming from, given some historical background. There's a long history of openly gay men/women being called "sexual predators", esp. by non-accepting friends/family of people they enter relationships with, under the pretense that the only way their dear son/daughter/friend/etc would enter a "sinful" gay relationship is if the other party seduced/tricked them into it. There was a whole genre of films feeding off this theme in the 50's and 60's, wherein the assumed gay character would seduce some sexually confused teenager, with the end result being tragedy for both characters.

So yes, its not necessarily a "big deal", but I suspect Shalit simply, and innocently, touched a raw nerve for many people.

This really pisses me off! I'm straight, but I have no problems whatsoever with gay people. This film is a eye-opener to homophobics proving that two people can have a honest, deep love for each other, even if they are the same sex. This is 2006 people, we should have FULLY accepted the gay culture by now!!

Bigoted? Care to explain that statement?

There's a radical difference between familial love, say love for your parents, and the love you have for your partner (heterosexual or homosexual). Your logic does nothing but demonstrate what an *ss you are.
HeteroDefender wrote:
Bye the way, the whole excuse about "love" is a smokescreen, I love my dad and he loves me, but we don't want to have anal sex with eachother, nor do either of us want to have the same average number of multiple anonymous same sex partners throughout our sexual lives of about 1000.

Holly, you're a leming dupe of the Homosexual Agenda.

O my Goddess!!! No one's supposed to know about Jamming. Where on Amazon can I find the leaked copy? We'll have to do something about this. Pull some of our strings at Amazon and get our marionettes to do our bidding to remove the leak. Let's get the cabal together to figure out how to handle this.
Heterodefender wrote:
Ah, I see the intolerant hate-epithets from the foot soldiers of The Homosexual Agenda have already reared their bigoted heterophobic heads.

Readers, his technique is straight out of The Homosexual Agenda and the tactic is called "Jamming".
...
This tactic is to designed to deflect rather than engage. But that is ok, because I actually a copy of homosexuals agenda and I can direct you to where to go to buy your copy. Amazon.com has it.

Oh, and sheepherders are now COW-boy.

Man, this guy is getting really old with all his paranoid propaganda. What say we all ignore him?

Funny thing is, homosexual agenda foot soldiers are so lemming like in their rigid lockstep of conforming to the scripted agenda, that when I point out their usual response is the "camp" tactic, what does anon do? He responds with the camp tactic.

Wow, what a shocker....!

I have a question:
If a man, paralyzed from the neck down, fell in love with and married a woman who is also paralyzed from the neck down - could they get married even tho the could not engage in mutually conscenting sexual contact?

If yes, then where's the arguement that the right for 2 consenting ADULTS, to codify their bond through a Government-recongized contract (ie: marriage certificate)has ANYTHING TO DO WITH GENITALIA!

Once again, our right-winged friend has reduced the argument down to what genitalia.

What about those who have the genitals of both a man and a woman? While drugs can alter the body in some fashion, the reality his that person is BOTH sexes.

Unfortuantly, weak, hateful and shallow-minded folks have to reduce their argument to: It's more important what a person DOES with his/her genitalia than what they do with their heart!

Truely, truely sad.

Heath Ledger said it best "I find it disappointing that people kinda go out of there way to voice there disgust or there opinions against the way in which two people choose to love one another" - He's so right! Some of my best friends are Gay and the happiest people I know! This movie is .....stunning!

Gloria, let me ask you since I want the opinion of a female homosxual, couldn't your same argument be used by pedophiles?

OOps, they are already using it!
Come on - your an idiot. Pedophiles are not in a consentual relationship. I'm talking about mutual Love and Admiration of two people. I have nothing more to say to you besides - Get a Life and quit visiting Jakes Forum if all you do is post negative comments. I understand its a free country - free speech - but none of us want to read your crap anymore.

Gloria, I agree. Absolutely. I am also a hetero female and I also have many gay friends, female and male. I love your uote. I t is certainly true...if i dont't like something, I don't watch. It is very simple. The beauty of feedmom is to choose. I have to say it is disturbing having gay friends and having poeple like Heterodefender out there. Id like to give him a healthy dose of vigilant justice; althugh I would never stupe to such levels even though it is tempting.

“As different as we are, we’re still the same.” John Denver.

“Brokeback Mountain” is a movie that speaks to the human race of suffering, longing, wanting, passion, endurance, pain and an everlasting love that remains silent. How many of us have experienced this unconditional love that exists between two people. This movie is one that depicts this unfathomable element we all desire. To watch the emotion is painful for most and causes many not to sleep for nights and to cry when alone. The silent love portrayed at the beginning of the movie unfolds as remains silent even through the end when Ennis opens his closet and buttons the shirt that Jack wore at the beginning of the movie. The silent shirts speak to all of us. When Ennis found the shirts Jack’s over his represents that warm embrace that Jack had for Ennis and finally Ennis’ shirt over Jack’s shirt representing his embrace for Jack. Love couldn’t be any bolder.

The movie was a masterpiece depicting attraction, intimacy, longing, passion, hurt, pain, and endurance that very few, if lucky, will experience in a lifetime regardless of our sexual orientation. We are so fortunate to have Jack and Heath to bring this to our awareness. Those who want to criticize the content of the movie, sobeit. The gift of what unfolds at “Brokeback Mountain,” for all of us will not be forgotten in our lifetime.

I'm a guy and I think both Jake and Heath are good actors and actors have to be pleasing to the eye in this kind of movie. I'm glad you liked my comments, some people may think they're way out there but this movie is wonderful and the actors portrayed the elements I discribed perfectly.

Those shirts are funny but will be offensive to quite a few. The thing about Jake is that he has an open mind in regard to his lifestyle as well as the lifestyle of others allowing others to live as they see fit. He practices Buddhism which postulates goodness and that's relative to accepting others for who they are and allowing self to be the best one can be.
