great article guys, but if you're going to cite the campaign contributions to the 11th ward & John Daley I think you also have to cite the campaign contributions to Ald. Ed Burke, his 14th ward org & his Burnham committee.

$1,500.00 9/27/2005 Democratic Party of the 14th Ward Ad Book Comm

$1,500.00 11/21/2006 Friends of Edward M Burke

$450.00 11/15/2007 Friends of Edward M Burke

$1,500.00 6/28/2006 The Burnham Committee

$1,500.00 6/17/2008 The Burnham Committee

I worked for the Jumping Jack program, driving out the Jacks to block parties one summer about ten years ago.

For the workers, you basically got paid to drive around the city, inflate a balloon, eat up all the block party fare this diverse city has to offer (Mexican, Italian, Soul, Kosher), maybe sneak a cerveza or two, and then sleep in the van till the kids were done jumping. Kids liked it, but I don't know, is it worth it?

Good deal for me. Taxpayers? Not so much.

Daley's fingerprints on the program save? Shaaaaady.

You would that for $4.26M a year they could wash the things out once in a while. The one I saw was filthy.

Glad to hear that the city has all the basics covered and can spare the money on this....
