If I'm not mistaken, that's in exchange for $4000. a year tuition credit, so your child won't be buried in debt when he/she goes to a college/vocational school, etc. I guess that's a bad thing, huh? Also, I don't recall it being mentioned that "government work" was the only volunteer work allowable.

Most Mexican citizens simply want to be Mexicans, even in America. They want America to provide them with interpreters and with everything written in Spanish. Its not enough that we provide the citizens of Mexico with housing, schooling, daycare and medical, we now have to educate our kids in Spanish for them to even have a chance to keep up in the work force.

I see it this way:

If I, an individual, were to go to the Prez/Congress/Senate, etc, and request something, I'd be frisked, then shoved out the door, with bounding guffaws sounding behind me. How dare I presume, right? Now, let me know someone who has some power, like the Prez of Mexico, or whoever, and watch how fast I get what I want. See what I'm saying? The illegals couldn't have gotten this far, without pull...and money...LOTS of money. A real cool "what's in it for me?" Not everyone in the US wants to do what you do for a living.

I'm done with this. I thought more American citizens were more educated than they obviously are. If I were offered $4000. a year, to volunteer to do anything from read to the elderly, to sayyyy...build homes for the poor (which looks good on a resume, btw), I wouldn't turn it down because of some illegals who just happened to speak that language. I feel sorry for adults who need to enrich their skills, to move beyond where they are now...but I feel sorrier for their children, who will be held to lower standards than they'd like, for that same reason.

In his normal pandering fashion, Obama will say anything for a vote. This is the United States of America and it is made up of ALL nationalities. Why not have everyone speak Italian??? If anyone comes to this country they should come legally or be deported! If they come to this country, they should make ENGLISH their first language or get out!

How about this, lets ask Mexico to pay for the housing, schooling, daycare, and medical for the Mexican citizens living in America....or at the very least pay for the spanish interpreters and printing costs of everything written in Spanish. If tree huggers were smart they too would demand for English only.
