It's a moment anyone who went to high school can empathize with, though it might mean something more to those who grew up gaythe adolescent experience when you discover, like the X-Men, something in your nature that makes you different from the majority of the people around you.

I think that Marvel keyed into the inner feelings of many young people when they started Mutant as hero's. they have steered clear of the sexual aspect but I do hope that changes.
they have approached the subject by shape shifters but avoided the anatomical changes.
As long as There are those of us who do not agree with our gender of birth, there will always be mutants, even with a polite name of Transgendered or transsexual.
