from Advocate:

"On the other hand,'to feel victimized as if somehow they are the new oppressed group is just patently absurd,' he says.'This has happened a lot in the church, of people making decisions that have repercussions, and then saying that they were victims when they were the ones who made the decisions. The breakaway churches all talk about being driven out,' Robinson says of splinter Episcopal dioceses that have left the church in recent years to establish their own denomination following Robinson's ordination ..."

Robinson was not recently ordained, and there never was a mass exodus of Episcopalians or their dioceses immediately after Robinson's ordination; instead, most have left TEC under Schori's regime because she made it impossible for orthodox Christians to stay in good conscience.

Interesting. The Bishop advises Obama to hide/conceal his support for same-sex marriage to further his election prospects. That strikes me as dishonest in the extreme. While I will never accept same-sex marriage as Godly, I have no choice but to accept it and deal with it if properly adopted through the democratic process. The Bishop is saying to Obama and to the world, that plans to change the social compact should be hidden from the public to avoid having the public's participation in the process via the vote. To me, that is shameful.

Odd comment from the Bishop, as the President, on multiple occasions in the 2008 Campaign, affirmed marriage as between a man and a woman.

Given this, I guess I'd guess that Pres. Obama is heeding Bp. Robinson's advice thus far.
