Some more smart thinking by Toyota. Combine this with there range of Hybrid's and fucture range of battery powerd vechiles. A strong reason why Toyota is building 3 brand new battery plants in Japan right now, shows that they arn't putting all there eggs in one basket, no doubt the other manufactures are doing likewise.

Toyota is quietly preparing for the next revolution of vehicles.

The Detroit 3 are busy trying to bring small gasoline cars to market and Toyota is so far beyond that (explains why Corolla and Camry both sold over 50K in May alone!).

Leave it to Toyota to take us into the next frontier of transportation. The Detroit 3 never even answered the Prius, and now Toyota will drop a bomb on the auto industry before 2012, right around when the Volt comes to market.
