Once again it would be so nice if journalists didn't simply cut and paste from PR releases.
Sorry, but "...the show, which landed at CBS Paramount TV after drawing interest from several studios." is so clearly taken from a PR release it's not even funny.

Back to the meat of the issue, Fox is again returning back to the dry well of McG!
After all, who wouldn't want another show from the man who brought you Fastlane and Chuck.
Yes I know he was "responsible" for the one-season wonder that was The OC, but in reality, wasn't the FOX PR Department not responsible for it? If the show had really been strong wouldn't it have kept its ratings for a lot longer?
In any case, it's sad to see FOX continuing to bark up a dead tree.:(

What's so funny is that I like Chuck, and I liked Fastlane (I'm a car guy, so that was the main reason). Still and all, one would think that flashes in the pan like the arrogant non-named McG (and wouldn't you love to take a baseball bat to people who refer to themselves in such a manner?) would've been kicked to the curb for only producing niche shows, which doesn't help struggling networks very much. All well and good if you're producing a show like Chuck on the NBC of the mid-80s to the early-90s, when they were top of the heap, but not so much when your shows are getting beaten by Spanish-language soap operas on Telemundo.
If McG were smart (and he isn't), then he'd bring his brand to Spike TV, where the grunty men who like shows such as Fastlane (the writer said, grunting) tend to flock. He'd have all kinds of hits there. I'd like to say that most of this paragraph was blantant sarcasm, but...I'd be lyin'.:P

'Human Target' was tried before. In 1992 it stared Rick Springfield and lasted only 7 episodes.

That's the main difference between now and 20 years ago. 20 years ago, Stephen J. Cannell or Steven Bochco were getting lots of shows made because they delivered the goods (Don Bellisario also comes to mind although he never produced many shows at once).
Nowadays people who fail repeatedly to bring audiences in keep being hailed as brilliant and get order after order (Yes David Eick and Ron Moore, I'm talking about you! ;))
