In 1973 I was at Lyon & Healy's downtown purchasing a Steinaway piano when I heard someone playing the last movement of Beethovens 3rd piano concerto.
I sat down at a seat outside the room and was amazed at
how well it was being played. When the music stopped the door opened and Alfred Brendel walked out. He looked at me and smiled and walked away. I'll never forget that.
