In Oregon, I care, and voted. From “Kentucky,” I suspect “Jack’s” is a Republican Shill.
Remember follow O’s – it’s too late to mail them, so haul your ballots to the nearest drop box. And don’t fall for malicious bologna like Jacks … though he has me wondering if the pay’s good?
Sorry Neal, I am not being paid but I feel stronly that Barrack Hussein Obama and poor old John McCain are not right for our country.

Hopefully prople in Oregon will not fall for the Obama's caring persona.

Below, is something else to think about...and I am glad you're reading the Oregon political threads.

Hopefully people will think before they get something worse than Bush "if" that's possible.

Obama is subtle, but he still comes off with playing the race card by bringing it up and then claiming he isn't playing the race card.

Barrack Hussein Obama.
"So rather than an abstract set of questions about,'Is he too liberal, is he too conservative, how do voters handle an African American, et cetera,' I think this is going to be a very concrete contest around very specific plans for how we improve the lives of Americans and our vision for the future," he said.

http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20080510/ap_on_el_ ...

Ironically, the question never entered my head "How do voters handle an African American" because most of us Americans can rise above the racist nonsense, that is up to the time he brings it up again, which he just did.

And how about being simply an American. What's with the African-American label. Is it not enough to simply be American in the year 2008? Is there some current loyalty to Africa in this day and age? Must the rest of also hyphenate our Country of Ancestral Origin? Irish-American? German-American? British-American? Italian-American (and the list goes on and on.)

Obama has the best plan for the most American’s;

Barack Obama in a necessary change
Sounds like you're not paying attention to Barack Hussein Obama's health care plan. His will leave out 15 million people. Senator Hillary Clinton's will cover all American.

Obama talks about change but we had change with George W. Bush. WE need stability and we need someone experienced enough to put America back on the track it was under President Clinton's administration.

Vote Hillary Clinton in 2008 for the best choice for our country.

WE don't need his and Michelle Obama's drama which we all have heard and seen.

Please find out more about her positions at HillaryClinton.com , which includes information about her Oregon Compact, which Obama, in recent days, has copied! You can also catch Bill Clinton or Chelsea Clinton at an Oregon event in the next couple of days. Hillary Clinton is brilliant, tireless and deeply caring - she has a gift for translating people's needs into policies that really help them. Her campaign has been one that addresses the concerns of everyone in this country not just select voting blocs shes hopes will win her the nomination. Why couldn't Senator Obama take out the time to talk to West Virginians or Kentuckians? Or debate Clinton about the issues that matter most to Oregonians?
Senator Obama may be a "shining star" but he seems to do best under the spotlights and cheered on by adoring crowds. Can we really be sure that there is enough substance under all the spectacle?
As Hillary Clinton has said, what happens when the lights are turned off?
Thank you very much for considering Senator Clinton before casting your ballot...
Well said and to true.

The War Secrets Senator John McCain Hides

Former POW Fights Public Access to POW/MIA Files

http://www.vvof.org/mccain_hides.htm

By Sydney Schanberg
NEW YORK (APBnews.com)— The voters who were drawn to John S. McCain in his run for the Republican presidential nomination this year often cited, as the core of his appeal, his openness and blunt candor and willingness to admit past lapses and release documents that other senators often hold back. These qualities also seemed to endear McCain to the campaign press corps, many of whom wrote about how refreshing it was to travel on the McCain campaign bus,“The Straight Talk Express,” and observe a maverick speaking his mind rather than a traditional candidate given to obfuscation and spin.

But there was one subject that was off-limits, a subject the Arizona senator almost never brings up and has never been open about — his long-time opposition to releasing documents and information about American prisoners of war in Vietnam and the missing in action who have still not been accounted for. Since McCain himself, a downed Navy pilot, was a prisoner in Hanoi for 5 1/2 years, his staunch resistance to laying open the POW/MIA records has baffled colleagues and others who have followed his career. Critics say his anti-disclosure campaign, in close cooperation with the Pentagon and the intelligence community, has been successful. Literally thousands of documents that would otherwise have been declassified long ago have been legislated into secrecy.

For example, all the Pentagon debriefings of the prisoners who returned from Vietnam are now classified and closed to the public under a statute enacted in the 1990s with McCain’s backing. He says this is to protect the privacy of former POWs and gives it as his reason for not making public his own debriefing.

But the law allows a returned prisoner to view his own file or to designate another person to view it. APBnews.com has repeatedly asked the senator for an interview for this article and for permission to view his debriefing documents. He has not responded. His office did recently send APBnews.com an e-mail, referring to a favorable article about the senator in the Jan. 1 issue of Newsweek. In the article, the reporter, Michael Isikoff, says that he was allowed to review McCain’s debriefing report and that it contained “nothing incriminating”— although in a phone interview Isikoff acknowledged that “there were redactions” in the document. Isikoff declined to say who showed him the document, but APBnews.com has learned it was McCain.

Many Vietnam veterans and former POWs have fumed at McCain for keeping these and other wartime files sealed up. His explanation, offered freely in Senate hearings and floor speeches, is that no one has been proven still alive and that releasing the files would revive painful memories and cause needless emotional stress to former prisoners, their families and the families of MIAs still unaccounted for. But what if some of these returned prisoners, as has always been the case at the conclusion of wars, reveal information to their debriefing officers about other prisoners believed still held in captivity? What justification is there for filtering such information through the Pentagon rather than allowing access to source materials? For instance, debriefings from returning Korean war POWs, available in full to the American public, have provided both citizens and government investigators with important information about other Americans who went missing in that conflict.

Would not most families of missing men, no matter how emotionally drained, want to know? And would they not also want to know what the government was doing to rescue their husbands and sons? Hundreds of MIA families have for years been questioning if concern for their feelings is the real reason for the secrecy.

For those of you that are blind about where Obama sees himself. If this doesn't convince you that you need to worry about him, then nothing will.
Pay close attention to the last comment!!

Below are a few lines from Obama's books; his words:

From Dreams of My Father:'I ceased to advertise my mother's race at the age of 12 or 13, when I began to suspect that by doing so I was ingratiating myself to whites.'

From Dreams of My Father:'I found a solace in nursing a pervasive sense of grievance and animosity against my mothers race.'

From Dreams of My Father:'There was something about him that made me wary, a little too sure of himself, maybe. And white.'

From Dreams of My Father:'It remained necessary to prove which side you were on, to show your loyalty to the black masses, to strike out and name names.'

From Dreams of My Father:'I never emulate white men and brown men whose fates didn't speak to my own. It was into my father's image, the black man, son of Africa, that I'd packed all the attributes I sought in myself, the attributes of Martin and Malcolm, DuBois and Mandela.'

From Audacity of Hope:'I will stand with the Muslims should the political winds shift in an ugly direction.'

Obama's statement concerning our "57 states" was no mistake. Check it out folks.

The OIC. The Organization of the Islamic Conference (OIC) is an international organization with a permanent delegation to the United Nations. It groups 57 nations, most of which are Islamic, from the Middle East, Africa, Central Asia, Caucasus, Balkan, Southeast Asia, South Asia and South America. The primary goals of the OIC are, according to its Status, "to promote solidarity among all Islamic member states." http://www.youtube.com/watch ?

Ah yes, but you are too! Neal from Riverside, CA. Unfortunately you lose just a little credibility, because I have seen many of your blogs in all the “right” threads. I doubt many of us are paid. For me this has been a personal odyssey without support. Google my ID and you can find me. Where are you?

I support Hillary Clinton!!

I started this odyssey when I looked around my neighborhood, where people were struggling to keep their homes and came to the realization that many were getting skewed information. And I was angry.

I knew that my neighbors could not afford to keep up cable, direct TV, DSL or broadband. Therefore, most of the debates were not seen. I watched and was appalled at what I saw on regular TV. An active Clinton with mouth working in speech was always shown next to chin raised composure of Obama. Speeches were deliberately truncated in favor of Obama. MSN.NBC rivaled FOX. Of all the campaigns I have seen, this was the worst.

When you are operating from dial up, you do not watch YouTube or go to the media stations for information. PDF downloads are a big time commitment. One of many reasons I support Hillary Clinton is her broadband agenda for rural areas. It’s on her web site.

Caludia I hope and pray that you can get the word out in your State before it's too late. This man is very very Dangerous even more than Bush. As Democrat I will say up front that if Obama gets the Nomination MCCain will get my vote. And I hate to say this that even the slightest chance in hell that Hillary is on Obama's Tocket. I still won't take a chance with him. I know many of Hillary's followers will vote for him then but again with him as Commander and Chief will will be in danger.

Roofingbird … I’m disappointed… I’ll also go back to a prior ‘name’– Oregon Neal … as Topix can’t figure out I’m in Oregon (or those who don’t carefully read my posts). No one pays me, but you’ve seen my blogs..? Sorry, no such thing. And “Right?” It was fun to note someone had rated your posts as basically lost (thanks)… don’t know where or how I lost you, but here’s to Hillary:

After ‘hoping’ Edwards would emerge as our candidate, and a few debates that clearly left him 3rd, even in my eyes - I ‘sided’ with Hillary. The left side of my party, The Democrat Party - are so fired up with anger over our last two presidential misses and the massive wreck Bush the second is leaving America they’re giving all they’ve got to elect to opposite, Barack Obama. I’d have been content to have sided with a,‘moderate,’ Hillary – but that battle’s over and it’s time we unite and move on.

Obama’s got my vote – just to ‘get it over with.’ I’m actually more impressed with his policies than Hill’s but know he’s not only going to have a tougher time getting them passed in Congress – but winning this upcoming election with ‘McSame.’

“The Right?” Read closer my friend, cause pretty soon we’re going to have to close ranks … or suffer FOR MORE YEARS!

Neal..your thread reads from whence your server springs. Mine gets confused and moves from Oakland to Vallejo, Walnut Creek and Napa; but it’s always in the Bay Area. Senator Obama is a dual citizen. He is a citizen of Kenya and USA. Does anyone else see a conflict here? He should not even be a senator until he denounces his citizenship in Kenya. Where does his loyalty really lie? Are we Americans not concerned at all about national security? We need to amend the constitution to prohibit dual citizens from being a senator, representative, president, or vice president. It is wrong!

Here is the scoop from the Chicago Suntimes

Lynn Sweet

The scoop from Washington

Clinton campaign blasts Obama for premature victory lap. Not yet "mission accomplished." Wolfson memo.

WASHINGTON--The Obama campaign plan to claim victory Tuesday night in Des Moines, is "a slap in the face" to millions of people who have not yet voted, says a memo from Clinton campaign communication chief Howard Wolfson. Not quite "Mission Accomplished," Wolfson writes. But in politics perception is often as important as reality, so Obama's staking the claim to the nomination---based on the majority of pledged delegates--makes political, if not mathematical sense.

Click below for Wolfson memo...

To: Interested Parties
From: Howard Wolfson, Communications Director

Date: Monday, May 19, 2008

Re: Mission Accomplished? Not so fast.

Senator Obama’s plan to declare himself the Democratic nominee tomorrow night in Iowa (http://www.politico.com/news/ stories/0508/10184.html) is a slap in the face to the millions of voters in the remaining primary states and to Senator Clinton’s 17 million supporters.

There is no scenario under the rules of the Democratic National Committee by which Senator Obama will be able to claim the nomination tomorrow night. He will not have 2210 delegates, the number needed with Florida and Michigan included in the process, nor will he have 2025 delegates, the number needed to secure the nomination without Florida and Michigan.

Premature victory laps and false declarations of victory are unwarranted. Declaring mission accomplished does not make it so.

While Senator Obama inaccurately declares himself the nominee, Senator Clinton will continue to work hard, campaigning for every vote in the upcoming states and making the case that she will be the best nominee to take on John McCain and be our next President.

…Bird… Born in “The Rose City”(Portland, Oregon), I’m not far outside at this moment and this post. I, too, look at locations … but my ISP must have a link in Cal… and I get tired of describing my location. I haven’t been to Cal for a decade now – since little sister’s wedding in San Diego… I’d “register” here but with the vicious posts I’ve encountered on Topix I’d rather remain anonymous.

Anyway, local poster’s recognize me, and that’s who I generally speak to and of. That said, this Obama hatred is un-real – and obviously focused on Oregon because of “Tomorrow’s Primary.” NOTE TO SPAMMERS: most of us have already voted! if we hadn’t mailed our ballots in last Friday we’ll have to deliver them to drop sites prior to 8 pm tomorrow. We ONLY vote by mail – it’s great, and I’d highly recommend it! Too bad national Republican state parties suppress movement that across the nation – as it tends to increase voter turnout – something that generally loses them elections.

That said – I’m trucking my ballot(s) to the nearest town this evening … and as my wife canceled out my vote for Obama with hers for Clinton … I’m half-tempted to ‘lose’ hers on the way ~…No, I’m a good husband… gerrrrr. Gender-loyalty won out with her; with me, it’s a feeling of getting this show (the Obama vs. McSame show) on the road!

But as a loyal poster – here in Oregon - it’s quite an awaking, if not down-right sickening reading the Republican slander from afar. Some of these creeps are spamming 8 to 10 threads on at least two different Oregon Topix locals … leading me to believe, that unlike myself – they’re paid operatives. One,“Mike,” isn’t very bright, so I suspect he’s a religious fanatic looking for the continuation of the hostile one-sided religious addenda of Bush … while he spams Barack relentlessly. Other’s appear to be from Hillary’s camp – sad to say. Honestly, I’m losing track! But watch for Obama’s win in Oregon tomorrow, and though we’re on Pacific Time – the ballots are prettymuch in and it’s a very fast count come 8PM.…Guess I’ll be smiling for Obama, though Hillary would have made a fine President!

Here is food for thought. I found this press release dated 5/17 on Hillary Clinton’s website. I googled the phrases and Black Star News was the ONLY ONE in the whole country to pick it up to date. I think this says something wonderful about Black Star News. I think it says something else about the rest of the country right now. The Clinton’s have been champions of Pan African issues since Senator Obama was a teen. She deserved better than that from the press.

http://www.hillaryclinton.com/news/release/vi...

5/17/2008
Statement from Hillary Clinton

"As the turmoil in Zimbabwe continues after a seriously tainted election process, President Mugabe is employing brutal tactics against dissenters in an attempt to retain power. In addition to raids on opposition party offices and the killing of opposition democracy activists by Mugabe supporters, there are increasing reports that the police are interrogating, arresting, and beating Anglican parishioners and preventing them from attending Church.
"I join with people of all faiths in the United States and around the globe in calling for an end to the religious persecution taking place in Zimbabwe. These offenses are an affront to everyone and, as we know, religious persecution anywhere is a call to action everywhere.
"Zimbabwe's families and communities teeter on the edge of starvation and economic distress while intimidation and violence toward people of faith is being carried out by the ruling party.
"This past Sunday while many participated in Holy Communion, a church service was raided and congregants had to run for safety instead of participating in their most holy sacrament. We, as a free nation, must join in prayer for the faithful of Zimbabwe. In April, the worldwide Anglican Communion called on everyone to pray for Zimbabwe's rescue 'from violence, the concealing and juggling of election results, deceit, oppression and corruption.'
"Let us all join in this call to prayer seeking an end to the persecution, for the church of Zimbabwe to remain faithful and strong for justice and truth, for an end to the drought that is creating a food crisis, for those suffering from the HIV/AIDS pandemic and their families and the clergy who are weary in their ministry. Let's work to lift up this nation during their time of distress.
"As First Lady and Senator, I have spoken out against religious persecution around the world, from China to Afghanistan to Ukraine. And in places such as Northern Ireland, I have worked on behalf of religious reconciliation to help foster peace. As President, I will continue to speak out for religious freedom and work towards religious tolerance and peace around the world."
