I don't think Portman was impressive at the least. He waited two years and conveniently after he was no longer considered as a running mate for Mitt Romney.

He by-passed the stir, making the admission during or before consideration that it would have created.

Moderate Republicans see the writing on the walls and are making a ditch effort to soften their stance on limiting American citizens from the shield of Constitutional protections, equality and access.

To deny an individual their pursuit of Happiness is against the fundamental principle of America that Patriots, willingly gave their life to secure.

Really, I was under the assumption that they were our voice? Silly me, sure I want some fool making judgement calls and enacting laws that go completely against my viewpoints. DUH!!! You must be only about 15 years old.
The average voter is not informed or enlightened enough to make policy judgements. Motives of greed, ignorance, and bigotry should not determine how an elected official votes. It already happens much too often.

And you, LBOW, are the average voter.

What "new" information? That his kid is gay? That would make it personal wouldn't it? I thought you claimed that he is to be a voice for the people, not himself? Flip flop much woody?
However, he swore to defend and up hold the Constitution. Any position that limits equal access and Constitutional protections of any Individual is not defending the Principles of the United States Constitution.

He if not defending the rights of all citizens equally is practicing tyranny on certain groups of citizens because of their personal practices and preferences.

Republicans on Marriage puts in mind King Longshare and his decree on his subjects. newlywed brides had to lay with Longshare's Lords before their husbands on the night of their weddings.

There was a time that black people could not marry.

There was a time that people could not marry interracially.

Gay marriage is inevitable.

The only threat to marriage is adultery and divorce. And the Bible says NOTHING about "gay marriage". Most Americans favor the government leaving its nose out of people's bedrooms.

Gay marriage is a losing argument for the GOP RINO TEA Birthers. The longer they hang onto it, they will continue to lose elections.

your doom and gloom scenario about other forms of marriage has been proven wrong before you were told to parrot it...
Ya know woody, you spout the word "proven" way too much. I haven't seen one shred of your proof yet in any forum you have been on. Just cut the crap, nobody is buying it.

It's a debate YOUNGER than cell phones. It isn't even about true homosexuality but the desire to experiment and not be denied whatever suits one at the time. It's based on spontaneity. All marriages are that way lately, since divorce is so easy to achieve. Once again, self gratification and memememe. "Let's change the definition to suit ourselves."

And you aren't adult enough, woody to admit it's all about self gratification. C'mon! The past two generations have been the generations of self. You cannot deny that. It's why this world is in the economic turmoil it's in. But you are a gubmint dependent, so you are part of the problem. gimme gimme.
