I am voting for McCain. About being unprotected...do you know what Chicago is like? In Obama's district his wife said Well Obama could get shot going to the gas station. This is not Iraq this is Chicago, this is where Obama is from, this is the change we have gotten, murder rates are up over 9%, let's put some more of Obama's gun laws on the books. I forgot, we have Obama's hope here also, the highest taxes in the nation and the highest gas prices, why? because he has signed every tax bill put in front of him and still looking for more.Four more years of Illinois' hope and change in the White House for four years...I don't think so.

I think that we are so interested in what the candidates arent't doing that we lose sight on reality. Their speeches are basically pitches to get the job. They are are salespeople looking to get the deal closed. I compare these speeches to those of business folks who pitch to clients and present proposals on how their company is better than the next one. In these proposals, they OUTLINE how they propose to help you, the client fix things. They don't give minute details on their plans because, as it is with the Presidency, things change. The next President needs to be able to inform us of what needs to be done and what they plan to do but give themselves enough space to adjust according to the current dynamics. We know that if too many good ideas are spread around, it will be used against them and another person will take the credit. Why should Barack, Hillary, or John (if we call Hillary by her first name then the same should follow for the guys) outline their entire game plan for office so the eventual winner can still their idea and if it is successful get credit for it. Remember, regardless of what they are fighting for,they are still competitors. Also, if you believe that any President doesn't have a political think tank in the wings to provide sound advice on every issue concerning this nation, you are sadly mistaken. The President is not autonomous and is not the sole decision maker for this country. The President does not run this country, he is the figure head that takes the hit when things go wrong. They are each puppets, just well protected.

Build refineries? Yeah, that will work as refineries are at 80% capacity and do not want to increase refinery output due to low profit margins (refineries have to buy the oil you know). Democrats and more and more republicans do not want to continue the plight of trying to drill our way out of the energy crisis. Many of the top geologists believe we have reacedh or are near reaching peak oil. We have to find alternatives NOW. Besides, drilling for more oil will not reduce CO2 emissions, which must be done NOW. I know you don't believe in the fancy science and those with PhDs, but most people do actually read the literature and realize global warming is real.

Seriously, it is obvious less educated people who don't bother to pay attention to world issues, politics, and campaigns are going to vote based on race, political party, and sex because that is all they know and understand.
When I first voted I was a less educated person...(voted for Bush, sorry about that)... I decided I needed to make a better choice this time. Hopefully most people are doing the same thing.

I have. Look at it county by county and Precinct by Precinct. Take Mississippi for example. Yes Mississippi has the highest rate of illiteracy rate in the country and votes Republican. but if you go County by County those counties in Mississippi that have the highest rates if illiteracy and lowest education levels vote solid Democrat. While those counties in Mississippi with higher levels of education vote republican.
so going county by county those counties with the least level of education are almost all solid Democrats.
you cannot go State by State as that does not show you the real picture you have to examine things closer . But that takes work which Democrats are allergic to.
Might add in my home in Orange county . I dont know any one with an education that votes Democratic. Democrats here relay on the Gang banger vote.
