If a tree falls in the forest when everybody expects it to fall, does it make a sound? Yes, says Hillary Clinton. Except the press doesn’t think so. The press is unimpressed. This may be the first time in election history in which the press has withdrawn from a race before the candidate. As John Harwood of the New York Times and CNBC said on MSNBC Tuesday several hours before the polls closed,
“The headline tomorrow will be: ‘Hillary Clinton Wins Big in West Virginia; Democratic Party Yawns.’”

1 Actually, I don't give a rats azz. lol Sorry Doby, but I'm not an Obama supporter either. WV has been a predominately democratic state for years and when you look at the high taxes, low wages and being one of the poorest states, I don't have much faith in the democrats. |

Not a problem. You know your state better than we do and you're entitled to your opinion. Vote your conscience. Doby |

1 I guess I'm real bitter towards democrats. My hometown has been ruined by dems in the city govt and WV is one of the most expensive states to live in. When I look at the shape WV is in and know it is a democratic state, it tends to bias me against dems. I used to be a dem when I first began voting, and then after my town was destroyed, I turned repub. Now I'm not any party. I think it's time politicians start doing what's right for us instead of their party. |

1 He was at Schultzie’s Billiards in South Charleston, W. Va., on Monday when a reporter asked,“How problematic are those rumors ... that you don’t pledge allegiance, that you’re a Muslim? They are out there.” Obama replied,“They’ve been out there since the beginning of this campaign. This is something that has been systematically fed into the bloodstream. We notice these e-mails get sent out in each successive state that we were campaigning in, which indicates that it is not just a random sort of viral thing. I think you know this is a dirty trick that folks are playing on voters.” As an antidote to dirty tricks, Obama stated -- once again -- that he is a Christian. Given the long odds of actually defeating Obama, however, why does Clinton keep running? Because, she said, Tuesday night,“I am more determined than ever to carry on this campaign until everyone has had a chance to make their voices heard.” She has no alternative. Just as sharks swim in order to breathe, candidates run in order to exist. General election survey: A general election of Barack Obama versus John McCain is in many ways a stark contest of experience versus change -- and change is currently winning, according to the new ABC/Washington Post poll: Obama 51% McCain 44% Sample size: 1,122 adults. Margin of error:±3% For poll questions on different character traits, McCain leads on who has better experience (71%-18%) and who has better knowledge of world affairs (65%-24%). But Obama has big majorities on which candidate would bring needed change to Washington (59%-29%), better personality and temperament (56%-32%), better understands people's problems (54%-35%), and has a clearer vision for the future (54%-34%) This is why the racists and fundies on this baod resort to cut and paste lies. If their general election candidate can't do any better than this after 2 months with the field to himself and fawning press coverage, it's going to be an Obama landslide. They will do everything they can to avoid the issues, because on most of them, McSame is trending more right wing than Bush. The GOP lost three US House special elections in the last two months. All three districts were reliable GOP seats for generations. People can't wait to kick the GOP to the curb. |

1 GOP is out of touch with real America. I blame southern white voters like those that comprise W. Virginia. Exit Polls indicate nearly 3/4 of voters in W.V are not college grads. Living in one of the more rural less affluent southern states. Hilary is calling plays from the Republican playbook and the naive demo she is pandering too doesnt realize it. I mean what would it be like on the day after the gas tax holiday is over when gas rises $ 0.45/ gallon to its new price after price spike due to hoarding. Or potential for shortage in this holiday period. Its a solution to the symptom, not the problem of sound energy policy. Just like when Bill releeased oil from Srategic Reserves during Monica Lewinski. |

Congrats Hillary.
Although after John Edwards endorsement of Barack Obama tonight in Michigan I don't think it's gonna do much good. However, I still respect her tenacity. hawt |
