Obama on Energy: Make it clean; make polluters pay

Sen. Barack Obama came across as a guy you'd like to have a beer and watch a ballgame with Friday morning as he toured the McKinstry Co., but turned serious to say that his hosts will be on the cutting edge of a totally revamped national energy policy.

He'll pay for it with hope and change (at least that's what he keeps saying). Obama says what he thinks people will buy; it doesn't matter that he has no plan as long as the people love him because he says the right things.

Obama has no plan for Al Qaeda or Iraq other than to pander to the defeatists libs than want to cut and run away.

He'll raise taxes and kill the economy.

Hey libs, don't you see that Al Qaeda is training the next generation of terrorists. Or are you just going to ignore that because Obama will make friends with them?

You'll endanger our country if you put either Clinton or the Rookie into office. He keeps saying he was against the war, well GOOD FOR HIM.

The problem is that no longer matters because that was then, and what matters now is the outcome in Iraq, and if we leave it will be a unbelievable mess. Top that off with him withdrawing support for Israel and we've got the makings of WWIII in the middle east.

And it's thanks to the libs, who are as stubborn in their belief system as Eastern Airline employees were. Just like those union people, libs would rather crash and burn than admit they are wrong.

I haven't heard one media outlet talk about the 60 minutes FBI story where they said that Saddam Hussein admitted to deceiving the world about still having having WMD,...I wonder why not?

Another dolt that blindly believes anonymous e-mails that later turn out to be false.

We need an energy race that makes the space race look like an R&D project for a rubber band airplane.

It took a Democrat to initiate the space race that has paid off for decades and it will take one to break the bonds of the OILigarchy.

It took Democrats to convert the World Wide Web over to private industry helping to spark the largest economic expansion in our history.

Can Obama do it? I am not sure but at least he will try. An energy race will in fact help the economy. Legitimate alternatives to Oil will also help loosen the stranglehold that the existing energy monopolies hold over us.

This should tell you exactly where he is coming from and where he is going. I guess that is OK for the MOONBATS that adore him. Wait until the y get a taste of what life is like with him in the White House. Maybe we will have to change the White House to another name and have a new flag with green and black stripes. I feel really sorry for this country and what lies ahead for us. The MOONBATS have succeeded in destroying this country. By this time next year we will be in a free fall plunge form being a super power to being a second rate country. Obama's second term with deposit us in the third world domain from which we never recover.

Wow. You're really sad. Pathetic actually. How about try listening, instead of making decisions based on pre-concieved notions and you may see how intelligent, and sincere he is. A lot of these candidates care about getting votes & saying what they think YOU want to hear. It's all PR BUT the question is, do you trust them? That's more important then religion preference and flag. Let's be more realistic. America isn't all one religion, race, gender, class, etc... so that shouldn't be your main concern.

Obama is a smart man.. he did much better than bush in college, that's a fact! Bush wanted rules bent to coal burners could make more money and not have to remove mercury from their smoke ... bush was OK with 50 tons of mercury dumped into our air, water and soild every year.

I doubt he'll have to worry about China, seeing the USA is the biggest creator of pollution.

Ethanol. What a Joke. O energy gain. And a loss of the food crop to boot. So all prices go up. Milk, Meat, Cereal, All Grain products. Great Solution. A man full of Hope, and nothing else.

I'd like to know how Obama will keep the polluters from passing on whatever fines they pay to the consumers. Is he going to make it illegal for corp. presidents to make more than $1 million a year? To have a multi-million dollar golden parachute? Is he going to make it illegal for a person to sit on more than one corporate board? They're all scratching each others' backs.

Obama has been drinking the Gore Kool-aid. Cleaner, more efficient energy sources are grand ideas. But if you produce nothing, there are no good jobs, no products to sell and you end up buying and financing every thing we do through the Chinese. Hope you like Egg Foo Yung.....
Coal is efficient and it is being used responsibly and has never been cleaner. We have many decades of coal available for use. We have many decades of oil available as well, but we would hate to drill in Anwar or off the Gulf coast for fear of making Algore mad and disrupting some caribou or a sea turtle.
We can continue to follow the pipe dream of Obama who has really said nothing and those following his merry band or we can go after the known energy sources we have available to us and make it work in our favor. We are not even mentioning nuclear power except in passing. This is a clean and reliable technology that we should be pursuing with great ambition.
The current elected folks and those hoping for higher office make it sound like energy independence is a new and lofty goal. We have been hearing this stuff for close to forty years. Nothing has changed.
For those so agains business and oil, try living without either. This nation would come to a loud, screeching and painful stop. Food would be scarce, heating your home would become next to impossible, getting to work, oh yeah, there would be none.....think about it.
Obama is riding the tide right now. He is an enertaining and engaging speaker. He is however on the wrong side of history is so many ways it is incredible. A marxist in democrat clothing, but his current opponent, well, she is no different.

Sound good on surface but here a little fact. The people that end up paying is us . If you make these utilities pay more they are going to just pass the cost on to their customers . And if pass a law saying they cant then they will just go out of business and then you better have a good supply of candles ready.
