"Cooperation" is the wrong word.
U r trying to flatter the Aussies.
It has always been a one sided relation with the Aussies kowtow to USA in exchange for protection. The Australians have no control over what the Americans do on their soil.

The American Government will use their close ties to Australia, and Australia's close trading ties to China, to jump in and undercut any trade to China at the expense of Australia.... After all don't you look after your own country first - All this pissing in our pockets leaves me a bit sceptical about the US's motives..
