Voting Rights redress may be delayed

Jul 17, 2013 | Posted by: roboblogger | Full story: WAPT-TV Jackson

Following the U.S. Supreme Court decision striking down a key portion of the landmark Voting Rights Act, activists and those in states with a history of disenfranchisement at the polls are pinning their hopes on congressional action.

Despicable that so many still don't want blacks to have the vote and will do anything to deny them the vote. This nation has a lot of 'splain'n to do about how fellow human beings most basic rights are attacked.

Give it a rest. NO ONE is trying to keep legal Americans from voting. But fraud is alleged in every election now. People brag about voting more than once. Some districts had more votes than registered voters. That is a problem. Voter ID is not that big a deal. And every person that wants to vote would/could get that ID easily. And the very people that scream discrimination are the ones that probably have shown more ID to get their government handouts.

I can't vouch for your state, but I'm proud to say that, at least here in Georgia, the laws regarding voting are the same for everybody regardless of race, religion, age, or sexual orientation.

You're delusional. Black people in America have the right to vote, just like everyone else. They can register to vote and walk into poll to cast their vote with no one standing there to block them.

Except that voter ID has never been show to prevent ANY voter fraud.

EVER.

The ONLY reason for voter ID laws is to attempt to make it more difficult for certain US citizens to vote.

If the majority of citizens without a state-issued voter id voted for the GOPasaurs, they would NEVER EVER propose these laws.

EVER.

Nope, only a racist like yourself would assume he was elected because of his skin color.

I know I voted for him because he supported many of the issues I support.

Of course a racist such as yourself can't understand that, which is why the GOPasaurs keep losing 95+% of the black vote and are losing 75%+ of the Hispanic vote.

It's about the MESSAGE, not the messenger. Until the GOPasaurs realize that, they'll just keep putting lipstick on the same old pig and keep wondering why they lose.

Unless of course they're one of the millions of blacks without a valid state issued photo voter id card living in one of the GOPasaur controlled states.

Yeah, that's what you all said about your marriage laws when you could only marry someone of the same race.

But hey, it was the same for everybody......

What redress ? If you are 18 and a citizen you can vote.
Are you aware of anywhere in the country where anyone
qualified is not allowed to vote ? Eliminating the Pa.
polling site where obama and holders black pampers actually
while armed with clubs turned away white voters.

Here in Atlanta, blacks and whites are free to intermarry as they choose, more so than perhaps any other city in America.

Also, when I go to the poll on election day, I'm often times the only white guy standing in line behind a dozen blacks. I base my beliefs on observation and reasoning, none of your imaginary narratives will change my mind.

I'm not seeing the white conspiracy angle here. Blacks have just as much access to state issued id cards as whites. Perhaps even more so, because they tend to live downtown where all the government buildings are. There arn't any crackers standing guard at the door to keep the blacks out.
Of course, there is awlays the risk that a group of neighborhood boys will take their wallet as they attempt to cross the street. Perhaps that explains all the shutins who never bothered to get an id card. But that's not a white vs. black issue.

It's more of a poverty issue, but the white GOPasaurs know that blacks are more likely to be poor and therefore more likely unable to afford the cost of getting the documentation like a certified copy of their birth certificate necessary to get the supposed "free id".

It's a back door racist policy, which is even worse than just admitting they don't want blacks to vote.

Democrats love that voting is done on Tuesday's and closes at 7:00pm, because by that time whites are still stuck in traffic during their commute from work.

Hmmm, and yet it's the DEMS who are always trying to EXPAND voting hours for EVERYONE, while the GOPasaurs are always trying to LIMIT voting hours to those when whites are most likely to vote.

Yep, it's pretty clear to anyone with a brain that the GOPasaurs are trying to prevent blacks, Hispanics, and others who usually vote Dem from voting.
