You said "Americans", then you said "US citizens" then you said "adults". Now you say "taxpayers"
Romney was referring to, in a private conversation, the people who are off his election spending radar because they will never vote for someone who threatens -in reality or perception- the goodies they are accustomed to receiving. I call that a good business decision.
Bottom line is there are too many people with incomes who get away scot-free on the backs of people like me and perhaps you.
Clearly, Romney already had one group in his pocket and didn't care about the 47%. Only convincing the 5 - 10% who would vote for him....

"Romney: There are 47 percent of the people who will vote for the president no matter what. All right, there are 47 percent who are with him, who are dependent upon government, who believe that they are victims, who believe that government has a responsibility to care for them, who believe that they are entitled to health care, to food, to housing, to you name it. That that's an entitlement. And the government should give it to them. And they will vote for this president no matter what. And I mean, the president starts off with 48, 49, 48—he starts off with a huge number. These are people who pay no income tax. Forty-seven percent of Americans pay no income tax. So our message of low taxes doesn't connect. And he'll be out there talking about tax cuts for the rich. I mean that's what they sell every four years. And so my job is not to worry about those people—I'll never convince them that they should take personal responsibility and care for their lives. What I have to do is convince the 5 to 10 percent in the center that are independents that are thoughtful, that look at voting one way or the other depending upon in some cases emotion..."

It just made it hard for him to reconcile his private views with the one he was trying to portray in public to the people he wanted to vote for him.

This is true on both sides since this is where national elections are lost and won.

Why is the CORPORATE FASCIST MSM covering-up this story??? Who were the hecklers??? I'm not concerned about peaceful protestors making their point.

http://www.thebostonliberal.com/karl-rove-hec...

"'Police eventually escorted the protesters out of the auditorium, where they continued their demonstration.“He’s a war criminal,' said protester Priscilla Lynch outside the building,'and we shouldn’t be paying him and coming here to listen to him speak. We should be doing a citizen’s arrest.'"

Really crummy reporting----I don't know if Priscilla was a heckler or just an outside protestor only.

No indication from the CORPORATE FASCIST MSM who Priscilla was associated with or whether she was flying solo.

And that's the tack he should have taken.

Instead, he dissed his so called 47% and made the 5 - 10% question not only themselves, but Romney's sincerity as well.

Listen to what he's saying... he just wants to get elected and he's defining who the "enemy" is.

Fact is you can't and WON'T "see facts," ever. You're a lying propagandist and completely full of bulls**t.

I wasn't debating it with you - there WAS NO CONNECTION, period. Saddam had NOTHING to do with 9/11.

Now sit down and shut the hell up.

Muslims didn't explode the bomb, honey.

Unless you want to blame the Holocaust on Christians.

PS: I did not blame the bombing on the Israelis. I blame them for not sharing the information they had that would have saved 241 lives on the Israelis.

You LIE yet again.

It wasn't a private conversation, a private conversation is what you have when you are in the bathroom stall telling your client how much you love him when... well when you are able to talk.

Draft dodger Romney made his remark in a ROOMful of people, one of whom had a video camera and he was hitting them up for money.

Romney had millions hidden in offshore accounts and paid way less than the average taxpayer- he paid less than 14 percent.
