The Ugly Face behind the Mask of Liberalism

There are 3251 comments on the www.newswithviews.com story from Jul 3, 2009, titled The Ugly Face behind the Mask of Liberalism. In it, www.newswithviews.com reports that:

It has been interesting watching the response to the Honduran military’s recent ousting of its nation’s president, Manuel Zelaya. Barack Obama called the action “not legal” and Hillary Clinton said that the arrest of Zelaya should be condemned.

Most interesting, perhaps, is that taking this position places them shoulder to shoulder with Fidel Castro, Daniel Ortega and Venezuelan’s roaring mouse, Hugo Chavez, who is threatening military action against Honduras. Now, some would say this is an eclectic group — others would say, not so much — regardless, what has gotten them so upset?

Nice theory. But if you actually look up the facts, you'll find those voting Repubilician had an average income of $18,800. Those voting Democratic had average income of $28,000, as reported by Slate. I've seen other sources that say similar things. But who wants the facts now days.
While I doubt the disparity in numbers, I do not doubt that the AVERAGE Democrat voter is of higher income level for two reasons:
1. Republicans tend to do well in rural areas which typically have a lower per capita CASH income.
2. The SUPERRICH such as Bill Gates, Warren Buffet, John Corzine, movie actors etc overwhelm the averages. They make in the 100's of millions each year and they know that the true path to their continued dominance of the poorer classes is to support Liberalism which purports to help the downtrodden but in reality works to keep them in their place.

You go on and on about how the government can't possibly do a good job managing things, but you forget that the government successfully runs some pretty massive programs from some of its departments, such as:
- the U.S. Postal Service
- the U.S. Parks Department
- the U.S. military
- the U.S. Dept. of Transportation's Federal Highway Administration
These and many other agencies are highly efficient and do some pretty amazing work, sometimes on very tight budgets.
The government does a pretty good job with it's basic functions: law enforcement, the judiciary, the military, and a few others.

As for the rest, the private sector would do a better job.

Plus, when private companies screw up, there is recourse. With the government, we're all kind of stuck.

The liberal thinking that says liberals have the right to force everyone else to live by liberal morals. For example, liberals feel they have the right to force everyone into being educated. Liberals think they have the right to force everyone into Social Security.
This liberal thinking claims liberals have the right to force everyone to funding liberal charity programs, through taxation, even if those people have strong moral objections to the programs. Liberal programs such as universal health care, public education, anonymous abortions, handing out condoms to your children in public schools, etc.
Liberalism has become an abomination to society, and Americans will never allow these things to continue to exist in America.
The only reason liberalism/socialism has made it this far is because big media has been boredcasting the propaganda 24-7 for decades now. The only way liberals can get people to fall for their nonsense is to brainwash people into falling for it, through nonstop liberal propaganda.

Chuck, I do not agree! When liberals do not get what they want they expect action via legislation. Rather than making people accountable for their decisions where they can enjoy the fruits of their decisions or stew in the consequences of them. Liberal ideology essentially removes any and all accountability from adults. Liberal ideology is an enabler to those who perpetually make bad decisions.

The very people who support liberal ideology are those who suffer the most from the groups’ actions-minorities. Liberals want universal health care, which will result in a degradation of performance of such services. Liberals oppose school vouchers forcing poor minorities to remain in the under performing schools in their communities, which limit their opportunities of matriculating at ‘real’ universities. Liberals support increased funding to support the bad decisions of my minority counterparts rather than re-education to combat that bad behavior. For example, by offering unwed mothers increased funding if no man exists in the child’s life. Wealthy liberals support throwing money at poor liberals in order to keep them out of their communities and threatening the quality of life of those that have.

Since your from "The Bronx" as am I.
I will leave this blog with this bed time story.
Once upon a time,
The ant worked hard in the withering heat all summer long, building his house and laying up supplies for the winter.
The grasshopper thinks the ant is a fool and laughs and dances and plays the summer away.
Come winter, the shivering grasshopper calls a press conference and demands to know why the ant should be allowed to be warm and well fed while others are cold and starving.
CBS, NBC, PBS, CNN, and ABC show up to provide pictures of the shivering grasshopper next to a video of the ant in his comfortable home with a table filled with food. America is stunned by the sharp contrast.
How can this be, that in a country of such wealth, this poor grasshopper is allowed to suffer so?
Kermit the Frog appears on Oprah with the grasshopper, and everybody cries when they sing,'It's Not Easy Being Green.'
Al Sharpton stages a demonstration in front of the ant's house where the news stations film the group singing,
'We shall overcome'. Jesse then has the group kneel down to pray to God for the grasshopper's sake.
Nancy Pelosi & Barack Obama exclaim in an interview with Larry King that the ant has gotten rich off the back of the grasshopper.
Both call for an immediate tax hike on the ant to make him pay his fair share.
Finally, the EEOC drafts the Economic Equity & Anti-Grasshopper Act retroactive to the beginning of the summer.
The ant is fined for failing to hire a proportionate number of green bugs and, having nothing left to pay his retroactive taxes, his home is confiscated by the government.
Hillary gets her old law firm to represent the grasshopper in a defamation suit against the ant. The case is tried before a panel of federal judges that Bill Clinton appointed from a list of single-parent welfare recipients.
The ant loses the case.
The story ends as we see the grasshopper finishing up the last bits of the ant's food while the government house he is in (which just happens to be the ant's old house) crumbles around him because he doesn't maintain it.
The ant has disappeared in the snow.
The grasshopper is found dead in a drug related incident. The house, now abandoned, is taken over by a gang of spiders who terrorize the once peaceful neighborhood.
And nobody lived in happiness at all.
Hilarious, but a frighteningly accurate depiction of today's society. We have the grasshoppers (the marias of the world) who sit back and demand free everything, and get mad at anyone who dares to point out their laziness, mediocrity, and direct responsibility for their own plight.

Attending and actually learning something are two totally different things. There are lots of kids who attend schools but learn nothing. You are obviously one who showed up occasionally, learned/gained nothing, and now go on in blissful ignorance and angrily blaming the world for your own miserable failure of a life.

The government of Germany, the Nazis, set out to commit genocide (i.e. exterminate the entire race of Jews). They succeeded in building concentration camps, killing 6 million Jews, and torturing millions more. THat government of Germany, supported by its people, was defeated in WWII, and the people of Germany paid reparations to the people they directly impacted.

In the U.S., the U.S. government abolished slavery in the early-mid 1800s. The southern stats formed the Confederacy and seceded from the Union. The Union(i.e. the United States) went to war with the Confederacy, defeated them, and in victory forced them back into the union and abolished slavery. What followed, Reconstruction, essentially amounted to "reparations" in a sense.

BOTTOM LINE:

1. Show me ONE person alive today who was a slave in pre-1865 America. If they're still alive, we can pay reparations to them. You can't. Any descendant of slaves alive today is at least 3-4 generations removed from slavery. Hence, NO reparations

2. The United States government in existence today is the one that went to war to defeat the Confederacy and free the slaves. Asking the united States to pay reparations to black people for slavery that took place pre-1865 would be like coming up back in 2085 and demanding that the United States, Canada, and Great Britain pay reparations to the Jews for WWII.

3. Who pays and who receives reparations? Many of the people in the United States today are 1st, 2nd, 3rd, or 4th generation immigrants. In other words, their grandparents or great grandparents moved to America within the last 145 years. SUREly they aren't responsible for paying reparations, and surely, if they're African-American, they're not entitled to any reparations, even if you disregard points #1 and #2 above.

4. Even "poor" African-Americans in this country enjoy a lifestyle that's rich when compared to their African counterparts. Even those living in "the projects" receive Welfare, Medicaid, drive cars, have TVs, refrigerators, electricity, running water, cell phones, etc. Many have satellite TV or Cable, and ALL have access to nice well-stocked air conditioned grocery stores. I challenge you to show me someone in America today, who's actually descended from pre-1865 American slaves who'd be better off had their ancestors remained in African.

Reparations are a complete joke. There's no validity to them, and there's no way to equitably pay them. Even IF the U.S. government starts sending checks to African Americans, African-Americans are going to have to pay higher taxes to cover their own checks. Even proposing it is nothing but folly, as is comparing it to the Germans paying reparations to the directly affected Jews from WWII.

Sotomayor Enters Confirmation Process with Miers-Like Numbers

July 10, 2009 by Patrick

Sonia Sotomayor will begin her confirmation hearings next week with some of the highest levels of public opposition of any Supreme Court nominee in the last two decades, according to a new poll by the CNN and the Opinion Research Corporation.

In fact, only one nominee had a higher level of opposition: Harriet Miers, who was appointed by President George W. Bush in 2005. Miers later withdrew her nomination under questions about her qualifications from both the political left and right.

Forty-seven percent of respondents to the poll say they would like to see the U.S. Senate vote to confirm Sotomayor versus forty-percent who say they would not.

In the final CNN poll taken before Miers withdrew her nomination, forty-three percent of respondents said the Senate should oppose her confirmation.

No other recent nominee, not even Robert Bork, whose own nomination under President Ronald Reagan was scuttled, faced public opposition this severe. In the last poll taken during the Bork confirmation fight, thirty-eight percent wanted to see him confirmed versus thirty-five percent who did not.

All other nominees polled by CNN—Clarence Thomas, Ruth Bader Ginsberg, John Roberts and Samuel Alito—enjoyed wide margins of public support.

Just this last century, and reparations to Jews that are STILL alive! You know, those that survived your people reign of terror?
We had to invent a new word for this astounding atrocity ... genocide. First used in 1944, to describe the horrors of what your people did. Because there was nothing like it in all of human history, except maybe the Roman extermination of the Carthaginians.
Reparations for PAST generations? Well then, when are the Turks (allies of the Germans) going to pay the Greeks for 500 years of murder and rape and stealing of land? Oh, and the Armenians too?
When are the Italians going to pay France and Britain and Spain reparations for all the millions they slaughtered and slaves they took in ancient times?
Or is there a time limit?
When are the North African Barbary pirates going to pay reparations for the 3 million WHITE slaves they took from Europe, and a few from America too?
But the fact remains ... the Germans, Russians, and Chinese have killed more people in all of human history combined, well over 100 millions, all in the name of one form of socialism or another.
That more than all the people that died in every war in all of human history prior to that.
You're arguing with a vastly inferior intellect in maria, but it's still fun trying. Great Post!!!

100% of the people involved in the "atrocities" of pre-1865 slavery are now dead. It's impossible for the aggrieved parties to receive compensation just as it's impossible for any guilty parties to render compensation. It's a moot point.
