What do you mean Herbie Hancock is "long past his heyday"? Was Picasso past his heyday, painting into his 90's (I'll bet you wouldn't mind owning one of his later paintings or sculptures); or was Frank Lloyd Wright past his heyday when he designed buildings like his last, the Guggenheim in NY? Herbie is an artist in the true sense of the word. In fact, he's a national treasure, not disposable just because he isn't young.
Get a grip, writer, you may also want to be scribbling when you're past 65; will you then have nothing to say? Maybe you'll actually be better than you are now, which may not be too hard, come to think of it.
