Analysis: Obama's vision of nuclear-free future isn't altogether farfetched

Full story: www.kfsm.com

President Barack Obama's startling call Friday for a "world without nuclear weapons" brings to mind Ronald Reagan's idealistic, unfulfilled dream of eliminating the threat of nuclear annihilation.

Obama continues to amaze me with just how disastrous he is for the United States. So, if he gets rid of our nuclear arsenal, or reduces us to having a few token missiles, he's effectively reduced us to the level of a North Korea or Iran. If some rogue state manages to secretly build a couple or three missiles now, they know if they fire them at us, we'll level their entire country. If Obama gets his way, they're even with us, and might risk it. How exactly does Obama think he would enforce a nuclear-free world? Is Obama out to bring the US down, or is he just that naive about what history shows about how countries work? I'm not sure.

It would be a great irony of history if President Obama could help bring Ronald Reagan's unfulfilled vision into reality.

Reagan's dream, combined with Obama's follow through, making the world a safer place.

Godspeed, Mr President.

Except RWR's vision involved building a missile defense system to make ICBMs obsolete, not getting rid of ours and trusting all other countries to get rid of theirs and never build any more. THAT might have worked. This idea won't.

Did you guys hear about the prediction of World War III between 2009-2012????

The economy of the USA will appear to get better then BAM - the USA dollar collapses.
From Peter Schiff and others...
The government having all this money to bail out everybody is all an illusion. The US borrowed trillions of money from all over the world and now the USA can't pay the money back and the world will be pissed off at the USA.

Inflation will be so bad that price controls will be instituted by the government. All banks accounts, CDs, etc. will be wiped out when the dollar loses its value. The USA will collapse in the financial and military area.

Gerald Celente
The USA will go on a depression worst than the great depression - food riots, tax riots, high crime like in 3rd world, kidnapping and violence in USA, etc. The commercial real estate will collapse in 2009. There will be a tax revolt in the USA from property taxes first then school taxes.

"By their deeds, you shall know them."

Iran and Israel will start World War III. If Israel attacks Iran, WWIII starts. It will cause an oil crisis.

At least Obama is consistent and predictable in screwing things up. We would be in more serious trouble if all the stupid stuff he does was kept secret.

Apparently, the fact that Reagan's dream had NOTHING to do with contrition or an insatiable desire to be "loved by all" ... is as lost on you as it is on the author of this ridiculous story.
There's a HUGE difference between Reagan's peace from strength and Obama's, "if we stop will you stop, too, please"! Obama appears to be A LOT more like Jimmy Carter than Reagan!

President Reagans vision of a peaceful world was Peace through strength. President Obama's vision is peace through Surrender. There is a huge difference.

You know this reminds me of the Left Behind Series. Which if you haven't read you should and if it's been awhile you should again. It's very scary to read these days. Disarming the world??? Think about it. And if you don't recall that this last week Russia and China called for a One World Currency which Tim Geithner didn't seem to completely dismiss when asked about it. He said not right now, he didn't say not ever. Everybody better start praying!

Leo

There's an erratic quality to the day, thanks to the Full Moon in emotional Cancer, combined with a lunar eclipse. Loved ones are likely to behave in ways you hadn't counted on. The only way to cope with this is to be as flexible as possible. Someone might change an arrangement at the eleventh hour so you have to think on your feet, or others may be determined to do their own thing even though it doesn't suit you. Get any arguments out of the way quickly so you can enjoy your New Year's Eve celebrations with a glad heart.
